"Your son..." the man said, and both Anika and Shivaay rushed toward where the man was pointing.
Anika covered her face with her hands as tears streamed down uncontrollably. Her body shook with fear, but she pushed forward, unable to believe what she was about to see. Shivaay, completely numb, moved slowly, his feet felt heavy as if the ground beneath him was collapsing.
When they reached Ansh, time seemed to stop. His small body was lying there, covered in blood, his clothes soaked through. Shivaay froze, staring at his son in disbelief.
"Ansh..." Shivaay whispered, his voice trembling as he knelt beside him. He reached out with a shaky hand and gently shook Ansh’s body. "Buddy... wake up, please..." He was trying to hold himself together, but the tears streamed down his face, his worst fears becoming reality.
Anika knelt down beside them, she clutched his small body. "Ansh" she cried out, her voice breaking. She hugged him tightly, rocking him back and forth, feeling the warmth of his blood against her skin. "Please, baby... open your eyes..."
As she held him close. The blood from his body continued to flow, soaking her arms
"We need to get him to the hospital" someone suggested
Shivaay nodded, tears still streaming down his face,Shivaay, still in shock, gently took Ansh from Anika's arms, cradling him.His hands were bruised, blood mixing with tears on his face, but he couldn’t feel the pain. All he could think of was his son“Ansh... Dada is here... stay with us, okay. We’re going to the hospital now," Shivaay said
The crowd around them moved quickly. Someone had already called an ambulance.Anika leaned into Shivaay, sobbing uncontrollably as she touched Ansh's face. “He’ll be okay, right. Shivaay... please, say he’ll be okay...”Shivaay’s heart felt like it was being ripped apart, but he couldn’t find the words. All he could do was hold Ansh tighter and whisper promises he wasn’t sure he could keep.
At the hospital
Shivaay sat beside Anika, his eyes red, staring blankly at the floor, trying to keep himself from breaking down completely.Every second felt like an eternity.Suddenly, the doors to the emergency room open, and a doctor came out.
"Mr. and Mrs. Oberoi, your son...... he's in critical condition. His injuries are severe, and we are doing everything we can to stabilize him. But......he’s not responding as well as we’d hoped. The next few hours are crucial. We need to prepare for the wors"
"No, not Ansh. Please, not my son…please save him"Shivaay said, holding his hands
"He has internal injuries and severe blood loss."Shivaay crumpled to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably. Anika, still in shock, knelt beside her, wrapping her arms around him. "We can’t lose him, Anika… we can’t lose.I already lost Malika......I can't....I will die"They sat there, clinging to each other
Soon, all the family members gathered at the hospital, their faces filled with worry and sorrow as they saw Ansh’s condition. The sight of him lying unconscious, surrounded by medical equipment, was too much to bear.
Four hours passed, but there was still no news from the doctors. Each minute felt like an eternity
Meanwhile, Shivaay’s condition worsened. His breathing grew shallow, and his hands trembled as panic set in. The memories of losing Malika came rushing back, and he found himself spiraling into the same overwhelming fear. Back then, he had no one, but this time, Anika was there.
Anika watched him closely, sensing the storm inside him. She quickly moved to his side, knowing he needed her now more than ever. She wrapped her arms around him, grounding him, offering the comfort he desperately needed.
