Time flies fast, doesn’t it. It had already been two months since Shivaay and Anika got married. Initially, Shivaay thought he might regret getting married again, but Anika quickly proved him wrong. She took care of Ansh as if he was his own son, and Shivaay couldn’t help but appreciate her for it.
As he stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his shirt, Shivaay couldn’t help but think about how much had changed. Today, he was getting ready to go on a date with Anika. It wasn’t his idea, though,it was Dadi’s. She had suggested that they spend some quality time together, reminding Shivaay that it had been two months since they got married, and they hadn’t really spent much time together as a couple.
Shivaay had initially resisted the idea, telling Dadi that his marriage to Anika was for the sake of the kids, nothing more. But Dadi, being as stubborn as she was loving, wouldn’t take no for an answer. She wants to see them happy together, and she believed that a date would help them grow closer.
With a sigh, Shivaay finally accepted that Dadi wasn’t going to let this go.
As Shivaay finished getting ready, he glanced at the clock, noting that it was almost time to leave.
He walked downstairs, finding Anika in the living room, talking with kids. She was dressed in a simple saree. When she noticed Shivaay, she smiled, a little shyly
"Ready" Shivaay asked, herAnika nodded, her head in yes
"You two have a good time. No rushing back, okay"Dadi suggested
The drive was quiet at first,Shivaay looked at Anika, who was looking out of the window, lost in thought.
Soon they reached at their destination,as they settled into their table, the initial nervousness began to fade. They started talking, about kids, like Shivaay talking about Ayrw's birthday which is in 2 months
"I’ve been thinking about what to do for her. It’s her first birthday since... you know, since we got married"Shivaay said
As Anika was about to respond to Shivaay
"Anika"someone called her out.The color drained from her face, and her hands began to tremble uncontrollably. She gripped the edge of the table tightly, trying to steady herself.
"Veer," she whispered, the name itself held a power over her. It was the name of the man who had once been her husband,a man who had brought nothing but pain and tears into her life.
Veer stood before them with smirk on his face, "Well, well, well.Look at you now, all married"
Shivaay, noticing Anika’s state quickly stood up "May I know who you are" he asked
Veer chuckled and said "I’m her ex-husband.Let me give you some advice, brother. Don’t waste your time with her. She’s only good for one thing—giving birth to daughters. Three times, she was carrying a girl in her womb, and that girl"
Before Veer could complete his sentence, Shivaay’s anger exploded. He stepped forward "Don’t you dare say anything about my daughter.Daughters are blessings. And if you were truly educated, you’d know that the gender of a baby depends on the father, not the mother"
Veer’s face darkened, but before he could respond, Shivaay took another step closer. "Stay away from my family, Veer. If you ever come near my wife or daughter again, I promise you, you’ll regret it."
"Fine,But remember, Anika, you can’t run from your past forever."With that, Veer turned and walked away,
As soon as he was gone, Anika let out a shaky breath, her body trembling uncontrollably. Shivaay turned to her immediately. He gently took her hands "you don’t have to be afraid anymore. I’m here"Anika looked up at him, tears welling in her eyes
