Days passed casually, not letting the trio and their new friends gang realize that it had already been a month since they joined the university.
"Agni, I need help with-" Sameer said, walking into Agni's room and found it to be empty.
'Where did she go?' He thought, only to hear a whimpering sound coming from the washroom.
He panicked and opened the door to find Agni siting under the shower, crying her eyes out.
"What the hell." Sameer yelled at her, and he pulled her away from the shower. Agni immediately hugged him tight, and cried out loud into his shoulders.
"What is the matter? What kind of person cries on their birthday?" Sameer said, making Agni cry out louder.
He pulled her out of his embrace, and frowned at her. She looked so piteous with her nose all red and her eyes were swollen.
"Agni, how long have you been crying this way?" Sameer asked, concern. "What made you cry this much?"
Agni just sniffled loudly, and sneezed. Sameer just glared at her, before pulling her out of the washroom.
"What?" Agni asked, putting up a pout.
"Don't." Sameer warned her, before pushing her into the closet room. "You will come out of that room only after putting on very warm clothes and with your hair perfectly dry and warm."
Sameer sat in their pillow fort and drifted off to deep thoughts.
"oww." He yelled and rubbed his cheeks. He looked up to find his twin glaring at him. "What'd you punch me for?"
"What is wrong with Agni?" Kabir asked, making Sameer sigh.
"I don't know man. I walked into the room, heard her whimper and found her soaked to the bones under that shower. She refuses to tell me what is wrong." Sameer said, sighing.
Kabir sighed as well and sat beside him. He put his arm around Sameer and patted him gently.
"I don't know what made her cry at her birthday." Sameer said, Rubbing his face in frustration.
"Maybe the fact it is her birthday?" Kabir suggested, making Sameer snort.
"Please. Every year, she is usually fine." He said, and received an odd look from his brother. "What?"
"She pretends. Is it so hard to look through it?" Kabir asked, making Sameer frown and sit up straight.
"What?" He asked, surprised.
"Yes, I mean, it is obvious. She has a made up birthday, made up emotions and a made up life. I don't really blame her for being sad in life to be honest." Kabir said, making his brother sigh.
"Argh, I know. But why can't she tell us." Sameer said. Though it sounded like a question, it was more of a statement.
Agni was oblivious to all this as she had snuck downstairs before when Sameer was lost in thoughts. She was now siting on the floor and watching the news while eating her breakfast.
"Why don't you watch something other than the stupid news? Something that your age kid might see." Jeevitha huffed, making Agni smile.
"Ma'am this is perfect for my routine." She said, and continued eating her food.
