For their fourth date, Harry invited Louis out for brunch on a Sunday at a new place that had opened recently and apparently a lot of people were talking about it.
When Louis arrived, Harry was already there and Louis was pleasantly surprised when he greeted him with a kiss on the lips.
"I feel like I haven't seen you in ages" Harry commented once they were seated.
It had been a week and a day since their last date, and Harry had tried to see Louis before, but Louis' job had been getting in the way.
"I'm sorry, work's been really intense lately" Louis said apologetically "I worked late every day of the week".
"Is it always like that?".
"No" Louis denied "My team's just short staffed".
"How come?" Harry wondered.
"Someone's on vacation for a month, someone went on maternity leave, and someone quit, all in the span of two weeks" Louis explained.
"Sounds fun" Harry said sarcastically.
"Tell me about it" Louis sighed.
"So when do you get vacation time?".
"I got three weeks off in June actually" Louis commented.
"Did you go somewhere?" asked Harry.
"Yeah, I went to Sardinia for 10 days, and then I went home for a week to spend time with my parents" Louis told him.
"Did you like Sardinia?" Harry wondered "I've never been there".
"I loved it" Louis smiled.
"Who did you go with?" Harry asked curiously.
"With some friends" Louis replied.
"Not a boyfriend?" Harry wondered.
"No" Louis chuckled.
"Why is it funny?".
"Because I went with a straight couple and another friend who's a girl" Louis commented.
"Oh right" Harry said and smiled "So what about your next vacation? Do you have it planned already?".
"I'm actually going to the US next summer" Louis explained.
"Yeah? You're going back to California?".
"No, but one of the friends I made during the MBA is getting married in Maine, so I'll use it as an excuse to take an East Coast trip, I haven't decided where I'll go though".
"Will you do that with friends too?" Harry wondered."Probably on my own" Louis shrugged "I've travelled alone before and I like it".
"Sounds nice" Harry smiled,
"Yeah" Louis smiled back.
After they finished their brunch, Harry asked Louis if he wanted to go on a stroll, which Louis agreed to. It was autumn, and although it was cold, the sun was out, so it was a nice day.
They had only walked a few feet when Harry reached for Louis' hand, and held it, which surprised Louis, but he allowed it to happen. He had never walked down a street holding someone's hand (family didn't count), and he couldn't even describe how nice it felt.
After their walk, Harry invited Louis over to his place to watch a movie, and Louis agreed, being curious to see Harry's place, and also because he didn't want the date to end, he was enjoying his time with Harry way too much.
"Your place is nice" Louis said as he looked around the living room.
"Yeah? You approve?" asked Harry.
