Secret in the Morgue

Chapter 6

In the gripping continuation of the Captain Jones mystery, investigative duo Claudette and Lance find themselves deep in a case of Captain Jones with the case still unfolding, Claudette reaches out to Lance to discuss their next move: a crucial visit to the local hospital. Armed with determination and a burning desire to uncover the truth, they question a nurse who holds vital information about the events leading up to Captain Jones's death.

Claudette asked some of the nurses who took charge when Captain Jones was admitted to the hospital. Luckily they found the nurse named Elise, she was very hesitant to be interviewed at first since she still had a patient to check on so Claudette and Lance waited until Nurse Elise finished her task.

"Hello officers, how can I help you?" She asked upon seeing the two waiting.

"Oh! Finally, you're here" Claudette was glad. She thought she would wait for an hour until she arrived.

"Do you have information about Cpt. Mark Jones's death?"

"The patient who was admitted here last time?" She asked.

"Yes that's him, we would like to know the cause of his death before he passed away."

"Based on the records when Mr. Jones was brought here in the hospital it says that he collapsed out of nowhere. After a couple of hours, he is considered already dead."

"Is there any reason why he died?" Lance asked.

"The only thing I knew was that some doctors ran a test on him and claimed that Mr. Jones was poisoned by a toxic substance." She's trying to recall the events.

That's when Claudette and Lance looked at each other as if they already knew the cause.

"Thank you, nurse, that's our only question. Thank you for the information" Lance thanked her.

"No problem, I'll be going to the ER." She said and waved goodbye to the officers.

"I knew this was going to happen," Claudette mumbled. "There's something fishy going on with Marco Jones."

"It's like every detail is connected," Lance said. "Should we go and arrest his son?"

"No" she replied. "We can't just barge in and arrest him. He got plenty of bodyguards."

"What now?"

"We will spy on him, we will just disguise ourselves as one of the employees who is about to apply to his company." She said her plan.

"Well, that's dangerous. What if he finds out?"

"He wouldn't," she said timidly. "I have some plan B with me. All I can think about is to prove to others that he is the suspect in his father's death."

"What If everything falls off with this plan?" He was serious while asking.

"Then it's time to call for back up"

The situation for Claudette and Lance was a brainer. They need to come up with a promising plan to finish the job. At this point, she can only start by disguising themselves as a business employee who is looking for a job. It's lucky for them since they can find business attire to get their disguise in a possible scenario.

Both of them prepared their walkie-talkies in case their phones were caught up. This will be one of the cases where they are up against the suspect.

"We arrived at the company," Lance said as he was driving their way to Marco's motor company.

"He is an ass rich for building this huge company." Claudette cussed after seeing how big the building was.

"I know" Lance agreed. "How did he even get all that money to build this?"
