Chapter 2

flos pov

"ughh.. we're competing against 5tar again?"

I heard someone groan from my right; it was obviously Martha, the group visual, and Lead Rapper. Tsk, more like lead yapper for sure. and then my hair stylist, Bobo. started to say something along the lines of
"Alright, flo, your all set to go now; dont move too much or else im gonna hairspray your whole head."
It sounded like a threat, but I know Bobo wouldn't even do that. I smile as I see 5tar's performance on stage that was playing in the room; none of my members even bothered looking at it once. Except for me, I had my eyes glued to their leader, Ruki.
As I was mindlessly watching the TV, I heard someone calling out to me,

"Hello? Earth to flo!"

It was Yuki, no wonder. "Why were you staring at the TV for so long? Wait. Isn't that... 5TAR?? Flo, what the hell! You know they have been our competitors ever since we debuted, and now you're admiring them?"

I stare at Yuki with disbelief; what she was saying was correct, but I knew I had to make up a lie: "What do you expect me to do when their crappy ass noise, which they call their new "comeback," just plays on the TV, and I left my headphones at the dorms, so I have no choice at all, Yuki."

Yuki just smirked and patted on my shoulder. "I was just testing your loyalty to our very amazing group; jeez, you got so protective!"
I stare at Yuki, dumbfounded. "Okay, Yuki, just stop it with your shenanigans! We have serious competition, you know?"

Amna's pov

I sigh as I hear Flo and Yuki arguing about something. I looked to my left as Martha was sitting next to me on the waiting room couch.

"What do you think they're bickering about?" I questioned Martha.
"Hmm.. probably talking shit about 5tar; Yuki hates that group more than the four of us combined without her, and shes always doing these loyalty tests to flo, like asking if she knows anything about 5tar."

Martha answered, and then whispered something in my ear, "Yuki has this giant hatred towards one of 5tar's members; what was their name again..? So..sola.. solar! yea solar!" I looked at Martha with a very confused face. "What about solar..?" suddenly Martha stared at me. The intense eye contact was weird.
"Do you think Yuki likes solar? What if they have a secret relationship?"

"MARTHA! I CAN PERFECTLY HEAR YOU DIPSHIT, AND NO! I AM NOT IN A SECRET RELATIONSHIP WITH THAT SHITHEAD." Yuki yelled loudly from the other room.

"YUKI CANT YOU JUST QUIET DOWN ONCE?? YOU YAP MORE THAN MARTHA!"
Another voice was heard from another part of the room; it was Tiara.

"WELL, WHAT IF I DONT WANNA?" Yuki shouted.

"THEN YOUR JUST EMBARRASSING US CAUSE THE WALLS ARENT SOUNDPROOF!" Tiara argued back to Yuki.

"THE WALLS ARENT WHAT?!" everyone except Tiara said in sync.

"You guys didn't know?"
Tiara became quiet after saying that, knowing what was going to happen next.

"NO!" everyone except for Tiara said in sync again. How come Tiara didn't tell anyone that the waiting room walls weren't soundproof??

flos pov

Fast forward and we were finished our stage at pcountdown. We headed back to the stage again where the moment of truth was to be unveiled. The other idols were behind in rows, their presence lurking behind us. As we stood in our usual formation I could see 5tar and Ruki, their leader walking up first with the rest following her.

God she was annoying. I hated her smug face and her proud walk up to the stage. It was clear that we would win, i know it.

The air was thick with tension as we both held our breaths while the mcs were tallying the points. The crowd also anticipating the winner waving their lightsticks in rhythm.

"And now the final count", one of the Mcs said holding up the card that would reveal the results. The screen behind them flickered to life, ready to display the winner. The numbers began to appear slowly.

Suddenly, the entire area plunged into darkness. The cheers of the crowd turned into gasps and murmurs as confusion spread like wildfire. The giant screens went black, the lights overhead flickered out, and the only sound left was the soft buzz of the equipment winding down.

"What just happened?" Tiara whispered. Martha took a step forward, peering into the darkness as if the answer might be hiding there, although that's her just being dumb.

The workers could be heard backstage scrambling about trying to get answers. Someone backstage shouted saying the power was off and all of the groups had to go back to their dressing rooms.

"WHAT.." Amna said in disbelief. "Now we'll never know if we won or not"

Everyone else followed with a sigh as we strutted back down to our room.

I slipped out of the chaos that had erupted backstage after the power went out, my hands clenched into fists. I needed to clear my head, and there was only one way I knew how to calm my nerves while waiting for the notice.

As i rounded the corner of PCountdown where the dumpsters were I fished a cigarette from my jacket pocket, lighting it with ease. I took a puff from my cigarette peering into the distance.

"Then after I have to go to a radio show.." I muttered to myself

As I exhaled, the sound of footsteps caught my attention. I straightened, narrowing my eyes as I saw someone else approaching.I was about to run away through the door but my gaze lingered on the girl, struck by something I hadn't expected to feel —awe. Her dark hair shimmered under the faint light, falling in soft waves around her shoulders, and her skin seemed to glow with a natural radiance. The sun highlighting her brown eyes visibly tired but still contained a shine in them, it was hard to look away.  I was mesmerised, but then I got to my senses

It was 5tar's Ruki.
