A/N:Treu in the Media
Treu lounged in her room, her fingers scrolling through the latest notifications as her friends, Nyla and Mello, sat beside her. The evening had a chill vibe; the sun had dipped below the horizon, leaving a warm glow from the string lights strung around the walls of her room. The bass from her latest track thumped softly in the background, and they all felt the familiar buzz of excitement that came with going live on Instagram.
"Alright, y'all ready for this?" Treu asked, looking over at her friends with a playful grin.
Mello, a lanky guy with a sharp wit and a knack for knowing what would pop on social media, nodded enthusiastically. "Let's give the people what they want! You know they love a little drama."
Nyla, with her bold personality and quick comebacks, added, "And we can't forget to keep it real. That's what our followers live for."
With a smirk, Treu hit the "Live" button. Notifications flooded in-hearts, fire emojis, and an endless stream of comments began flying across the screen as fans joined in. The thrill of sharing this moment with her followers gave her a rush.
"Heyyy! What's up, fam?" Treu greeted, her voice bright and inviting. "We're just vibin' tonight, so let's chop it up!"
The chat exploded with messages, and Treu's heart swelled as she saw familiar usernames pop up. Her fans loved interacting with her, and it felt good to know she had built a loyal following in Chicago's underground R&B scene. With a couple of viral tracks under her belt, her name was buzzing more than ever.
Treu glanced at the comments, reading some of the fan shout-outs. "What's good, Treu? You the next big thing!" one fan wrote.
Nyla leaned in, her curiosity piqued. "Aye, let's be real though. Who really killing it right now? Chicago got talent, but some of these people falling off."
As if on cue, the comments section lit up instantly. People began naming names, but one name kept popping up more than the rest: Star Bandz.
"Star? Man, she fell off."
"She ain't been hot since 'No Hook.' Treu takin' over now!"
"Star lowkey mad overrated. Treu, you next up fr."Mello raised an eyebrow at the flood of disses and glanced at Treu, who felt a familiar mix of excitement and anxiety bubbling up inside her. "You see this? They really tryin' to say Star Bandz ain't poppin' no more."
"Y'all crazy for real," Treu replied, trying to laugh it off. "I ain't saying nothing."
But Nyla wasn't having it. "Nah, let's keep it a buck. Star ain't really been doing much lately, has she?"
Treu hesitated, the playful banter of the night suddenly feeling a little heavier. But the comments kept egging her on, and she couldn't help but get caught up in the hype.
"Aight, Treu, they wanna know," Mello pushed. "How you feel 'bout Star? Let's hear it."
Treu took a deep breath, weighing her words carefully. "Look, I respect the hustle. But like... I'm different. We on two different levels. You can't even compare what I do to what she do."
The chat exploded with reactions:
"Treu coming for the crown!"
"Facts! Ain't nobody touchin' Treu's vocals."
"Star better watch out, lol."
