A few days later, Yarfa found herself at a family event, one she had reluctantly agreed to attend. As she was talking to a relative, she spotted a familiar face across the room. It was Aman. He was talking to some older men, looking quite at ease in his surroundings. She was intrigued, watching him from afar.
Suddenly, he looked up and caught her gaze. His eyes sparkled with recognition, and he made his way toward her. “Aap yahan?” he asked, surprised.
“Haan, mere cousin ka function hai,” she replied, trying to hide her own surprise. She didn’t expect to see him here, of all places.
“Kaisa coincidence hai,” he remarked, a slight smirk on his face. “Lagta hai Karachi bohot chhota ho gaya hai.”
They laughed, easing the tension that hung between them. They began talking, learning little details about each other. She learned that he lived in a massive haveli and came from an influential family. He was charming, but there was a darkness in his eyes that both intrigued and unsettled her.
