The first thing I heard in the morning was the sound of the mixer. It was 8 AM on my free day. Who was making so much noise?

Sleepily, I put on a hoodie and walked out of my room to find Louis, Kimmy's boyfriend. Then I remembered again that he was moving in.

"Morning," I greeted him. Louis was making some of his famous, tasty pancakes. "Morning, Bree," he said with a big smile.

Louis was usually a very happy and optimistic person, but today he was especially cheerful.

"What's up with you?" I asked him. He turned around from the stove and looked shocked. "Have you already checked the date?" I shook my head.

I turned my phone on and saw the date under the time. It was February 14th, or better said, Valentine's Day. One of the days I disliked the most because of my ex.

"I wanted to go shopping, but now the city will be full of couples," I said. Louis smiled at me. "You know, Bree, Valentine's Day isn't just a day for couples; it's for the people you love, and the most important love is self-love," he said.

And this guy was doing a corporate job? His job surely didn't match his personality.

"So go shopping by yourself and have a nice solo shopping date with yourself," he said, placing a plate of pancakes in front of me.

First of all, those smelled amazing, and second, why was he so wise? I almost wanted to stay home and watch all of the Bridget Jones movies by myself.

"I will," I said to him, and he nodded. Then I finally took a bite of the pancakes, and it was like love-making in my mouth.

Louis put a tray with two plates of pancakes and some orange juice in front of me; he was going to surprise Kimmy.

"Kimmy is lucky to have you," I said to him, and he gave me the biggest smile. "I know." And there I was, alone in the kitchen, eating pancakes.

When I finished eating, the doorbell rang. I peeked through the peephole and saw Thea. I immediately opened the door.

"THEA!" I shouted, hugging her. Thea's hugs were the best, but sometimes she hugged me so hard that I couldn't breathe anymore.

"What are you doing here?" We stopped hugging, and holding hands, and ready to jump around.

"What friend would leave you alone on Valentine's Day?" she said. "What are your plans for today?"

"I was planning to go shopping," I answered. One thing about Thea was that she was kind of a shopaholic, and her eyes started to sparkle. "That's a great plan!" Then she started jumping around.

Of course, I did the same. Kimmy and Louis peeked out the door and just shrugged their shoulders.

I got ready for the shopping day. The weather was still cold, so I wore some straight blue jeans, a baggy navy sweater, silver accessories, a big cozy black coat, and my New Balance 530s.

"Ready?" I asked Thea. She nodded, and we headed to the underground station to Oxford Street. They didn't like public transportation. It was funny to see her reaction when she was in the underground.

"How would you even live in London?" I asked her. She lived in Birmingham, and as soon as I had the opportunity, I moved away.

"I don't think I'll ever move here," Thea answered. Then someone started to sing, and the person didn't even sing that well.
