2- Heartbroken Again

Atlas Pov-

I stretch nuzzling my face into the soft pillow, letting out a pleased sigh before the events of yesterday flashed through my mind. I frowned as my eyes start to well up with fresh tears, a few managing to fall before I force them to stop. I didn't want to cry anymore. So slowly I get out of the comfortable bed and head to the bathroom to shower. After the day I had yesterday I just want to take a hot shower and relax before I figure out what I'm gonna do to win over my beloved's affection. I turn on the shower getting it as hot as I can. Once it's the right temperature I strip and step in, sighing as the steaming water cascades down my head, to my shoulders, and down my back causing my muscles to relax. I take my time washing my hair and body with the soaps and stuff already there. As I finish my shower I feel somewhat better, physically anyways. I dry off with a fluffy towel and redress in my old clothes since I didn't have any others. After I'm dressed I finally will myself to look in the mirror scared of what I'll see and just as I imagined I look utterly... broken. I quickly look away as more tears threaten to fall when suddenly my eyes snap to the bathroom door as I hear the bedroom door open. "Hello?" A rough voice asks making me jump slightly at the suddenness. I walk into the room to see a man standing in the doorway. He looks scary as he's way bigger than me, he stands a head taller than me and his power, it radiates off of him. "Y-yes?" I squeak out cursing myself for sounding scared. His eyes soften looking at me with pity. "Let's go, your trials about to start soon" he tells me starting to turn around. "Trial?, wait- who are you?" I ask meekly. "My bad I'm Enzo, the beta of the DarkMoon pack and yes your trial with the elder counsel" he explains as he introduces himself. I just nodded not quite understanding why I needed a "trial". "Let's go, don't wanna be late" he says before turning around and walking down the hallway. I nod and follow the beta to a door that reads "Alpha".  He knocks and immediately we hear a gruff "come in!". We walk in and I see my beloved sitting behind a huge mahogany desk as he stares my down with his angry eyes. He told me well more like demanded me to sit in the chair opposite of his while we waited for the elders to arrive. I sat there staring at my beloved, enamored with everything about him even though he seemed to hate me. A flash of pain coursed through me at the thought, I would fix it though. I'll find out what I did and fix it no matter what. I snapped out of my thoughts when I noticed his jaw clenching. He started speaking to me through gritted teeth. "Stop. Staring. At. Me. Bloodsucker." I was taken back by his words, agony pulsing through my body. I bowed my head, hurt etching its self into my features as I stared down at my worn out sneakers. A million thoughts began to race through my mind. Why did he hate me so much? Why was he being cruel to me? I thought wolves loved their mates? My thoughts were cut short when a projection screen I hadn't noticed lights up and eight older wolves sitting at a long table come into view. "Elders, thank you for your time today." My beloved spoke bowing his head to the group of older wolves. "Alpha Maddox, what's the reason you requested our presence today?" The wolf sitting in the middle of the group asked. "Elders, yesterday I caught two trespassers in my territory and as the new law dictates. I need your approval for any harsh punishment." He replied sounding slightly annoyed. "I see, please explain what happened in detail and what punishment you've decided for them." The elder demanded looking annoyed as well at my beloved. My beloved then begins to explain how he caught me and the rogue on his land. I sat there listening intently, loving how his voice sounds when he finally gets to the punishment part. "The rogue is feral and as such I request you allow me to end him. As for the vampire I request you allow me to deal him 15 whips and locked in my dungeons." I sat there shocked at him wanting to hurt me when I was clearly a victim in all this, I mean it's not like I wanted to be attacked by a rogue. I mean I'm literally his soulmate, he should want to protect me not hurt me. My body went rigid, my ears started ringing, and my mind went blank. I felt anguish wash over me, then anger at his lack of love or even just care for me and then nothing. My ears started to focus on the conversation as I hear the alpha growl at being denied his request for my punishment. "Elders! He trespassed on my territory. If I let him off others will get bold and think it's okay-" The elder cut him off with a growl of his own before he could shout out any more anger filled words. "It would do you good to watch your tongue when speaking to your elders Alpha Maddox and as for our decision, it is final. You will take the vampire to your pack border and you will release him, do you understand?" The elder growled out the words, glaring at the alpha in front of him. The alpha looked like he was about to blow steam from his ears, he was so angry. "Yes, Elders" he replied in a stiff voice trying to keep the attitude from his voice so he didn't piss the elders off even more than he already had. "Good this meeting is over then, goodbye Alpha" the elder stated before hanging up the call.  The alpha abruptly stood up and stormed out while growling to his beta to get rid of me. I stared at my mates back as he left feeling betrayal and hurt at his previous words. I was about to start crying again when I noticed the beta started walking towards me from the corner of my eye. "Come on Lu- I mean- never mind, let's go, I'll take you to the pack border" he says correcting himself before he called me Luna. I nod getting up as he turns around to lead me out of here. We make it out of the pack house and head towards a beautiful red Lamborghini. Any other time I would stopped to ask a million questions but I was definitely not in the mood to care right now, especially when my mate just ripped out of heart and stomped on it in front of me. I get in the car, buckling up while the beta- Enzo starts the car and pulls out of the driveway. The drive is quiet, an awkward quiet at that but luckily it was a short one. We drive for about 15 minutes before he pulls over on the side of the road and lets me out. "Head straight down this road and you'll come out to the main road from there take a right to head towards town." He tells looking at me with pity again. "Thanks Beta Enzo" I reply getting out and taking off down the road.
