Atlas POV-
I jolt upright in my bed, my breathing coming out in pants and my boxers uncomfortably tight. I wipe my hand down my face and try to calm myself down from the dream- no nightmare I just awoke from. After a few minutes of unsuccessfully trying to get the feeling of his hands and lips off of me, I sigh and look up at my plain light grey ceiling. " goddess what is wrong with me, someone mentions that place and I start fantasizing about HIM of all people. " I say as I let out another sigh while running my hand down my face as if I can physically wipe the dream from my brain. I closed my eyes again willing myself to go back to sleep while I could since I knew I was gonna have to get up soon. After a few minutes of all but forcing myself to go back to sleep I groan realizing it's not gonna work. So I slowly began to get out of bed and head to my in-suite bathroom to get ready for the day. I head straight to the shower so the water can heat up and strip my clothes off, suddenly images from my dream flash through my mind again. I shudder as I can almost feel his hands undressing me. I scold myself for thinking about him, especially after what he did, call me petty but I'm still pissed he just rejected me his literal soulmate like it was no big deal. I shake my head to rid the thought of him from my mind before hopping in the shower, letting the heavenly hot water cascade down my body. " god I'll never get over how relaxing a hot shower is "I say to myself. I began my shower routine, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, I rinsed off one last time and stepped out of the shower. I hurry up and dry off, not wanting to stand there naked in the cold air since I forgot to shut the bathroom door. Once I'm dry I walk to my closet and pick out a pair of comfy grey sweatpants, a dark grey shirt, boxers, plain black socks, and my favorite AC/DC hoodie. As I'm pulling my hoodie on I walk to my nightstand and grab my phone to check the time, my eyes widen when I realize how late it is. I quickly put my phone in my pocket, grab my bag of stuff I'll need, and run to the guest bedroom to wake up Kai. "Kai wake up man! We overslept!" I say as I shake his shoulder. He jumps up like he's been shot at my words and quickly starts to get up and get ready while cursing. Once he's changed and grabbed his bag, he rushes downstairs and we head out the door. " damn I swear I set an alarm last night, or maybe I just think I did? " he looks at me with a confused look on his face like I would know the answer. "I don't know man, maybe you were just really tired and thought you did." I reply as we throw our bags in the backseat before hopping in the car. "Must have I guess, good thing you woke up though or we would have missed our flight" he sighs looking relieved. "You know we could've driven if we missed it but I'm glad we don't have to," I tell him with a "duh" look on my face. "True but that'd be one hell of a drive" he grimaced just thinking about it. I chucked and decided to put on some music for the rest of the drive. It only took us about 20 minutes to reach the airport but by the time we got to our gate, we were practically running trying not to miss it. We get to the receptionist? I guess and quickly check in. Once we got all of that settled it was time to board the plane, we walked to the gate, got in line and soon enough we were sitting on our seats. "Phew I know we checked in and all but I don't I truly felt like we made it until we sat down," he says chuckling a little. I laugh along with him "Yeah I know what you mean." He turns his head towards me, a sudden look of excitement on his face. "I can't believe I'm opening my own gym. I know I must be annoying you as much as I keep bringing it up, but I'm just so excited!" he tells me with a huge smile. "You're not annoying me; I'm excited about it too!" I tell him with a huge smile on my face as well. He puts his hand on my bicep and leans my way a little. "Seriously though, thank you for coming with me. Even if you didn't want to fight for me, I still wanted you to at least be there," he tells me sincerely. "Are you kidding? You're my best friend; I wouldn't miss this for the world," I tell him seriously. He nods at me before yawning and leaning back in his seat. "Thanks, man, I appreciate it. Oh, and can you wake me up when we land? I think I'm going to go back to sleep." I chuckle at him, telling him I would wake him up before settling in and getting comfy myself. The plane takes off soon after, and I find myself unable to go back to sleep. I sigh, knowing it's going to be a long flight, and put on one of the crappy airplane movies to try and distract myself. I sigh as I finish my second horrible movie before turning it off. Someone beside me chuckles before saying, "Can't stand the awful movies either?" I look over and see a guy, probably in his mid-twenties, smiling at me. "Yeah, they really just find the worst movies to choose from and decide that's a good idea," I smile back, glad for the friendly conversation. "So where are you headed to?" I ask, desperate for something to do besides choosing another one of those movies. "Blackthorn; have you heard of it?" he asks me. "Yeah, that's actually where we're headed. My friend is opening his gym there," I tell him. "Oh, he's the one opening that new gym? My friends are excited to go to the opening night; something about a boxing match? I forget the guy's name." His eyebrows furrowed in thought, trying to remember the name. "Yeah, it starts at 6 on the 15th," I reply, snickering in my head at the fact he doesn't know it's me who'll be fighting that night. "Did you and your friends plan to go?" I ask him, curious as to what he'd do when he found out it was me the whole time. "Yeah, my friend Enzo is a huge fan and is insisting—more like demanding, actually—that we all go to watch it," he chuckles, shaking his head a little. I let out a little chuckle of my own. "Well, I hope he enjoys it. My friend is equally as excited about it too, and the grand opening, of course." The conversation is cut short when the flight attendant announces we're about to land and instructs us to fasten our seatbelts. I nudge Kai awake and tell him to buckle up. He does so, although he's grumbling the whole time about the flight not being long enough for him to get enough sleep. I laugh at his whining before buckling my seatbelt. It was a short landing, and before I knew it, we were waiting for our luggage. Thankfully, it only took about 10 minutes for our bags to come through the conveyor belt. We quickly grabbed our things and headed out to Kai's house.
