The Masters of Darkness - Season 1

Episode 11: The Big Reveal

Summary: Everyone in the stadium discovers what exactly was responsible for giving Roberta and Nina amnesia.

The first match, Yasiel versus Nova, of the semifinals was about to begin. The bell soon rang, and the match commenced. Yasiel charged toward Nova, but the hybrid struck him with her tail. His eyes darkened considerably, and Nova seemed to be the only one to notice. She was caught off guard by the distraction and was knocked toward the edge of the ring, but determination filled her.

Nova dodged Yasiel's attacks until she was able to get behind him. She knocked him to the ground with a violent tail whip, after which she picked him up by his throat and tossed him out of the ring. The audience, in awe by the display, cheered for the hybrid.

The next match was between Larry and Izuko. The former won the battle with a myriad of karate moves, most of which his opponent had difficulty dodging.

The third match was about to start. Beatrix had arrived just in time, for this was her fight. Her eyes narrowed once she spotted her opponent: Nina Cortex.

I will get your memories back, she thought. I promise.

As soon as the bell rang, Nina slammed the ground at Beatrix's feet, but the princess managed to dodge the attack. She caught the goth off guard and, being as Nina was much smaller, picked her up swiftly before giving her a body slam. She was about to throw her out of the ring, until she felt a sharp stabbing pain on one side of her head. She dropped Nina and held her head as various images flooded her mind.

"What's going on with her?" Pasadena wondered.

The audience watched as Beatrix mumbled something that they could not make out. Seeing her opponent was distracted, Nina sneaked behind her and attempted to grip her tail. That only caused Beatrix to snap out of her trance and turn toward Nina once more, picking her up and throwing her out of the ring at last.

Everyone began to cheer for Beatrix, but she paid little mind. She spotted her mother in the shadows nearby. Roberta glared at her before running in the opposite direction. Without a word, and much to everyone's confusion, she chased after her, soon trapping her in a corner in the locker room. The former contestants stopped what they were doing and watched the display in wonder.

"Mother - I mean, Roberta," began Beatrix, being careful with her words. "You have been acting strange lately. I know you have no memory of who I am, but could you tell me what's going on?"

Sweat trickled down Roberta's forehead as she searched for the proper words within herself. She took a cautious step forward as she replied, "I cannot say. There is...something peculiar about this tournament, but I cannot place my finger on what that could be."

"Do you at least have an idea?"

Roberta shook her head. "I'm afraid I do not. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must be on my way."

Beatrix allowed her mother to leave, after which she turned to the former competitors. Iris stepped forward and asked, "What was she talking about? What's going on?"

Beatrix heaved a sigh. "That woman...is my mother," she explained. "She has amnesia, and I am determined to fix it." She looked down at the goth standing before her. "Nina there has lost her memory as well."

Gloria's eyes widened in horror. "You can't be serious," she said.

"Oh, but I am. I want - no, I need to figure out how this happened. I...I need to fix this."

"Well, we will certainly do all we can to assist," Nova assured the princess.

Beatrix gave the group a warm smile. "I appreciate it."
