Chapter 5: The Case Unfolds

As Jin entered Namjoon’s room, he felt a sense of uncertainty, wondering what Namjoon truly needed. “What’s the problem?” Jin asked with concern.

Namjoon, sitting on the edge of his bed, placed his hand on his head and sighed. “My head is pounding a lot… feels like someone’s hitting it with a hammer.”

Jin quickly moved closer and checked Namjoon’s pulse and temperature. “You’re burning out,” Jin noted. “Wait here; I’ll get you something.” Without wasting any time, he rushed to the kitchen and brewed a herbal tea to help Namjoon relax.

As he handed the tea to Namjoon, Jin asked, “Is there a place around here that’s more… natural? Something soothing?”

Namjoon thought for a moment, then nodded. “Our terrace. J-Hope decorated it—it’s full of plants and pretty peaceful.”

Intrigued, Jin smiled. “That’s perfect. Let’s go there.” They both made their way to the terrace, the cool night air brushing against them as the scent of nature surrounded them.

Once they arrived, Jin noticed how serene the terrace was. Namjoon seemed a little more at ease just being there. Jin then offered, “It looks like you need a head massage. I can help with that.”

Namjoon, not arguing, simply laid his head on Jin’s lap without a word. Jin began massaging his head gently, letting his fingers glide through Namjoon’s hair. The tension in Namjoon’s face slowly eased away, and before long, Namjoon drifted off to sleep. Jin, too, fell asleep while continuing the massage, both of them peacefully resting under the stars.

They woke up the next morning with the first rays of sunlight streaming in through the plants, stirring them awake. A bit startled but amused by the situation, they quickly stood up, exchanged brief glances, and went to their respective rooms to freshen up for the day.

At breakfast, Namjoon addressed everyone at the table, “A very important case has come up, and we need to start working on it immediately. We’ll be heading to the headquarters today. Jin, you’ll be joining us too—it’s about time you saw the place.”

Jin nodded in agreement. After finishing their meal, they all gathered their things and prepared to head out. Namjoon and Jin shared a car, while the other members, paired with their respective partners, took theirs.

When they arrived at the headquarters, Jin, being there for the first time, was taken aback by its size and the aura of seriousness surrounding it. The members seemed to shift into work mode as they entered, and even though Jin had handled smaller injuries at home, this felt much different.

Sejin, BTS’s manager, greeted them at the entrance. His eyes widened as he caught sight of Jin for the first time. He knew there was a new doctor, but he hadn’t expected someone quite as striking as Jin. “Doctor Jin?” Sejin asked in surprise, trying to mask his astonishment.

Namjoon glanced at Sejin and gave a slight nod. “Yes, this is Jin. He’ll be working with us from now on.”

Sejin collected himself and turned to Namjoon, “I’ve got the files ready for the case. I’ll bring them to the meeting room.”

Once everyone settled in the meeting room, Sejin returned with a stack of files. Instead of sitting at the head of the table, Namjoon stood near the large projector screen. He pulled out a remote, and with a click, a series of images began to appear on the screen.

“This is what we’re dealing with,” Namjoon began as the images displayed on the wall. The rest of the members leaned forward, their expressions growing serious as Namjoon started explaining the details of the case.

Jin sat quietly, absorbing everything. This was a whole new side of BTS he hadn’t seen before, and he was about to be fully immersed in their world, starting with this case.
