"Time's up! Please pass your papers to the end of of the tables to your left" Ms. Leventhal told the cafeteria. Once all of the papers were at the end of the table, Mr. Fox took the 92 papers and handed them to Ms. Leventhal. "Okay. Miles Bagdem, Lance Modred, and Maddison Gahalantyne, please stand up." Ms. Leventhal told three students, who stood up cautiously. "You three, grab your bags and exit the camp."
"What?!" All three shouted.
"You were caught cheating, and cheating is the number one thing that Camp Purissimo does not tolerate. Please leave the camp grounds."
The three students left and the other campers glared at each other, timid.
Ms. Leventhal carried on, "Now, going through these papers, I can see who passed and who failed. So, I need the following people to stand up. Luther Adams."
Luther stood up confused, but brutish.
"Lyle Clark."
Lyle looked at Brooke confused and stood up.
"Felix Estevez"
Felix stood up smirking. "Does this mean I failed?"
"Brooklyn Goméz." Ms. Leventhal pressed on, ignoring the comments.
Brooke looked around, flustered. How could she have possibly failed this exam? Her mother was going to kill her!
"Guinevere Hyland."
Guinevere stood up and huffed. What a load of crap!
"Amara James."
Amara stood up. She looked at the other people standing and couldn't possibly believe they had failed the test. Everyone seemed quite smart.
"Bailey and Nataliya Karnak."
Great, they were even read together, Bailey thought. He was never going to be rid of his stupid sister.
Great, they were even read together, Nataliya thought. She was never going to be rid of her stupid brother.
"Cole Lewis."
That finalized it for Cole. He had definitely passed the test. There's no way someone as smart as him could have failed. The questions were so vague and stupid, like "what do you consider to be a good trait in a friend" or "is kindness stronger than ambition".
"Amethyst Sacleux."
Amethyst stood up quietly and thought nothing of it.
"Ezekiel Veights."
Zeke stood up, flustered. Of course she knew his full name. Just great.
"And finally, Rachel Joy Vo.
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY" erupted a large scream. Guinevere scooped up Rachel and hugged her.
"Why...?" Rachel monotonously asked.
"At least we failed together! We're just like twins", Guinevere screeched.
"It's not all it's cracked up to be" Bailey said from ten seats down. Nataliya slapped his head.
"So what now?" Cole asked.
Ms. Leventhal smirked. "Please exit through the door on my left. Just follow Mr. Fox out."
They all followed Mr. Fox, with Guinevere not relinquishing her grip on Rachel the entire time.
Mr. Fox took them out to a large, burnt out campfire.
"So did we pass or not?" Luther asked angrily.
Mr. Fox stood scarily close to Luther and, being seven feet tall to Luther's six feet, looked down at him.
"You passed, of course." Mr. Fox smiled.
"Wait, there's only gonna be twelve campers? That seems so unfair to the others!" Guinevere said.
"Who cares? Their not as good as us, that's their problem" Luther said.
"Exactly" Zeke agreed.
"What do we do now?" Nataliya asked.
"Now, if you will stop interrupting me, I'll give you your camp cabins" Mr. Fox said, annoyed.
"Oh yay", Guinevere squeaked.
The campers followed Mr. Fox, yet again, to a big blue cabin, barely 5 feet from the beach grounds.
"Wow, it's so beautiful! And it's lakeside!" Oh, please tell me this is mine!" Guinevere squeaked again.
"No. This cabin belongs to Mr. Lewis, Mr. Estevez, and Miss Karnak" Mr. Fox said.
"Which Miss Karnak?" Nataliya chuckled. Bailey punched her shoulder angrily.
"I wouldn't be laughing if I were you. I'm not the twin who's afraid of water and can't swim. Have fun with that", Bailey laughed back.
"Whatever. Later bitch!" Nataliya, Felix, and Cole grabbed their bags and went inside the Blue Cabin.
"Please tell me the next one is mine, because I really hate all of this walking!" Guinevere squeaked a third time.
"For the love of God, will you shut the hell up!" Zeke yelled.
"Hey don't you dare talk to her like that, Lizzy!" Rachel barked back. Registering again that she had recognized Zeke by his drag name, he shut up immediately.
The next cabin Mr. Fox took them to was purple.
"Purple is a nice color. I bet this is your cabin" Guinevere whispered into Rachel's ear. Rachel giggled at how childlike and adorable Guinevere wad.
"Miss Sacleux, Miss Goméz, and Mr. Clark" Mr. Fox read the names and pushed the campers in before they had time to protest or comment.
"Mr. Fox?" Amara pipped.
"Yes?" He replied.
"Are all of the cabins going to be co-ed? I don't mean to be picky, it's just that I don't really think I'm ready for that responsibility yet."
"Don't worry, all campers have had special accommodations for them. Now, onto the next cabin, shall we?"
The campers followed Mr. Fox again to a small pink cabin.
"Oh. My. God! This HAS to be my cabin! It's so beautiful! Rachel Joy, come on!" Guinevere screeched as she zoomed into the pink cabin. Once inside, she stopped dead in her tracks. The bright pink exterior was in no way an indicator of the inside. The cabin's walls were pure black, the floors were dark brown, and the three beds were jet blue.
"Mr. Adams, Mr. Veights, and Miss Karnak, this is your room." Mr. Fox grabbed the confused Guinevere and Rachel and slid them out of the cabin.
"I'm not a Miss" Bailey corrected as he walked in to the cabin.
"Honest mistake" Mr. Fox smirked, shutting the cabin door.
"Ok then, so where is your cabin?" Rachel asked.
"Follow me", Mr. Fox smiled. He walked the remaining campers to a bright green cabin and opened the door.
"Oh, I guess that explains the green letter" Amara chuckled.
"I'm glad you caught that, that was my idea" Mr. Fox laughed.
"Wait, so does that mean I share a room with Rachel Joy!?" Guinevere clapped happily as she and Rachel entered the cabin.
"Bye Mr. Fox!" Amara said as she entered the cabin.
"No goodbyes just yet. This isn't the end" Mr. Fox smiled and walked away.
