Jisoo sat comfortably in the couch of Junghyun's room, her legs crossed as she scanned through one of his comic books, humming softly to herself. The room had the typical Junghyun vibe, calm, organized, and peaceful. Shelves were lined with books and knickknacks, posters of space and nature decorating the walls. She felt at ease here.
What she didn't expect was Jungkook standing stiffly against the wall, brooding as usual, his dark eyes occasionally flicking to her with clear irritation.
Jisoo fell silent for a moment, her frustration growing as the thoughts of Jungkook filled her mind. She prided herself on being friendly, approachable, and likable, yet she couldn't fathom how someone could reject and ignore her so completely. Her presence was her power, her identity, wherever she went, she commanded attention. No one ever walked past her without at least stealing a glance. But Jungkook, he was different. He had consistently ignored her, always keeping his distance, and it infuriated her. She couldn't understand why she couldn't break through the cold barrier he had built around himself. It frustrated her.
Jisoo slowly pushed away those feelings. Whatever, she is here to discuss about the group project with Junghyun, not to steal attention from Mr. Grumpy.
But, what she didn't ignore was the occasional glaces that Jungkook was giving her.
"I didn't know you liked comics," Jisoo teased, looking up from the book with a playful smirk. She tried not to utter a word in front of Jungkook, but old habits die hard.
"I don't," Jungkook muttered, not bothering to look at her. His arms were crossed, his expression distant, but there was a tension in the air that was hard to ignore.
"Well, you're in Junghyun's room, so I guess that makes sense," she quipped, trying to break the ice.
When Jungkook didn't respond, she continued, her tone light but with a hint of curiosity, "Why do you always act like you're allergic to human interaction? It's okay to smile once in a while, you know."
Jungkook's jaw tightened, and he shot her a sideways glance, his brows furrowing, "I'm not here to entertain you, Jisoo."
"Oh, believe me, you're far from entertaining," she retorted, rolling her eyes before closing the comic and tossing it onto the table. She stood up, walking toward him with her hands on her hips. She talked, "But seriously, what's your deal with me? It's like you hate me for no reason."
Jungkook remained silent, his gaze fixed on the wall behind Jisoo, but not at her, refusing to acknowledge her. But as Jisoo stepped closer, he felt an odd warmth radiating from her presence, making his heart race in a way he hated to admit.
Jisoo sighed dramatically, clearly frustrated, "You know, Junghyun actually talks to me like a normal person. But you? You act like I've committed some horrible crime just by existing." She leaned closer, peering up at him, "What's your problem, Jungkook? Do I scare you or something?"
Jungkook's eyes snapped to hers, his expression hardening, "Scare me? Please. Don't flatter yourself."
Jisoo crossed her arms, her gaze narrowing, "Then what is it? Why are you always like this around me?"
The room was filled with the sound of their heavy breathing as the tension thickened between them. Jungkook’s mind raced, trying to keep his emotions in check. He could feel the pull, the undeniable attraction he was fighting so hard to suppress. Her eyes were too bright, her smile too infectious. She was beautiful, and that only made it worse.
