Music spilled out from the room at the end of the long, narrow hallway. Haunting melodies climbed up the walls and to the ceiling where it echoed for all the world to hear. The skillful finger work on the piano carried on as Camilla tried her best to stay silent under the creaky floorboards, despite the fact that the soft sound of her footsteps against the ground was drowned out by the music pouring throughout the building.
Technically, she wasn't even supposed to be in here. Her choice to come into the large building covered with "keep out" signs had only been immense curiosity she had about the music. Nobody else had payed attention, and seemed to not even hear the blaring piano.
The music seemed to grab and pull Camilla down the hallway. It was as if she was caught in a trance and there was some unknown force was pushing her along. Soon, she reached the end of the never ending hall and located the door the music was behind. She pushed it open, and to her surprise a boy, who looked to be about 17, sat behind the piano on the large, mahogany bench. Then, as if they just appeared before her eyes, she saw the large white wings protruding from his back. Is this really an angel? She thought. The music came to an abrupt stop, and this angel looked up.
They locked eyes for what seemed like an eternity, and suddenly, the beautiful features of the boy morphed into looks that spoke of murder and darkness as if a switch had been flipped behind Camilla's eyes. His large, white wings blazed up and tuned into huge coal black wings. He smiled at her with his razor-like teeth. She flinched back and the creature smiled even wider, as if he was enjoying her fear.
The creature lunged at Camilla before she even had a chance to scream.
