Michikatsu felt really cheerless from the day he acted hostile towards his demon friend.
His chest tightened, remembering Douma's teary eyes watching him retreat.
He regrets leaving the demon on his own, he's not even sure Douma would want to see him again.
Every day, felt like eternity and waiting to be pulled out of this void. He doesn't know if he should go to the place they've been meeting each other for the last 3 weeks, but something's been nagging him to do it.
Even his wife noticed his sorrowful mood, and silent nods every time she asked him something, as if he was forced to nod his head.
Michikatsu doesn't even know how much time passed, he spent his entire time either training, or just drowning in his unhappiness.
All the time, his mind was full of Douma. He just now wanted to let Douma finish the unsaid, everyday passed too slowly and every minute was excruciating.
But there was a little devil whispering into his ear, some things sort of: "but he told the demon king" or "you are betraying the demon slayer corps"
But truth to be told, he didn't care. He just wants to see him again, and listen to his melodic voice telling him some silly story.
He wants to look into those kaleidoscopic eyes that looked at him with such intensity, it honestly felt terrifyingly awesome.
After some times of wondering, he gave the thought a chance, and was leaving to the place they usually met up.
Step by step, he didn't look up, just walked at the path that lead him to the meeting place.
He was taking his time, his mind running with possible events that would occur if the demon, would show up.
Would he be outraged by his sudden appearance? Would he leave once he'll notice him? Will he cry on the spot?
He, too, recalled every single meeting he had with Douma. Every story. Every topic. Every word. Every place they went. Every comforting word Douma told him.
And yet, he still left Douma behind. He still screamed at him. He still said horrible things to him. Just why was he was ungrateful? The universe granted him the greatest of the greatest, yet, he still screamed at him.
His face was down-casted, and full of shame.
Just then, he noticed a familiar tree. He was already there? He was very anxious, what if Douma wouldn't even be there?
Still ignoring the thought, he went further, more and more recognisable things appeared, and then was followed by the meeting place.
And his breath was caught in his throat, was it from the fact Douma was here or his melodic voice singing, he doesn't know.
He quickly regained his thought, and approached the demon from behind.
Douma was so busy with his song, he didn't sense his happiness coming to him from behind.
Michikatsu didn't intend to startle him, so he placed his hand on his shoulder.
Douma loudly gasped in surprise when he felt something touch his shoulder. He swiftly turned around to see..Michikatsu?!
"Michikatsu!" He cried out, eyes still wide with disbelieve.
Michikatsu awkwardly stood there, blushing a bit by the situation he is in.
Unlike Michikatsu, Douma was beyond ecstatic, his arrival was the least expected thing, but also the best thing that could've happened to him this week or even a month.
