Joe sat in his dimly lit office, the glow of his laptop illuminating his face as he smirked at the new information he had uncovered. After hours of digging, he had finally found a weak spot in the police officer’s life—the man had a son. His name was Phuwin Tangsekyuen, and according to Joe’s research, he was a college student, the only family his father had. It was clear that the officer adored his son and was strict about his freedom. This was exactly what Pond needed to make the cop back off.

Joe immediately picked up his phone and dialed Pond’s number.

"Pond," Joe said when Pond answered, his voice filled with satisfaction, "I’ve got something. That cop, the one who’s been causing us problems? He’s a single parent, has only one son—Phuwin Tangsekyuen. The kid’s still in college, and his dad is overprotective of him. Loves him a lot. This is our leverage."

Pond leaned back in his chair, a smirk playing on his lips as he listened. "Oh? Interesting... very interesting. So this cop has a soft spot. And he doesn’t want anything happening to his precious son, huh?"

"Exactly," Joe replied, his voice filled with anticipation. "I’ve got all the details. It’ll be easy to get to the kid. We don’t need to send a whole team—just you can handle it. Quick and clean."

Pond’s eyes darkened with amusement. "Perfect. We’ll kidnap the boy, and the cop will have no choice but to back off. He won’t dare cross us again after this."

Joe chuckled. "Yeah, and we’ll make sure he understands that if he tries to be a hero, his son won’t come back."

Pond stood up, grabbing his jacket. "Good job, Joe. I’ll handle it from here. I’ll grab the kid tonight—no complications."

Joe nodded. "I’ll be ready to back you up if needed."

Pond smirked, his eyes glinting with the thrill of the plan. "It’ll be a piece of cake."

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Phuwin returned home from college, pushing the door open to find his father sitting in the living room with a serious expression. His dad, dressed in his usual police uniform, looked deep in thought, which made Phuwin feel a little uneasy. Despite the tension, Phuwin smiled lightly and walked over to his dad, wrapping his arms around him in a tight hug.

"Dad!" Phuwin said, his voice bright as he hugged him. His father patted his back affectionately, ruffling his hair with a smile.

"Hey, Phu," his dad said, smiling softly. "You’re back early today."

Phuwin pulled back, looking at him curiously. "Yeah, finished early. But Dad, what are you doing home at this hour? Don’t you have work at the police station?"

His father’s smile faded slightly, and he sighed. "Phu, I wanted to talk to you about something important."

Phuwin raised an eyebrow, sensing the seriousness in his dad’s tone. "What is it, Dad?"

His dad took a deep breath, sitting up straighter. "I’ve been thinking about your future, Phu. You know, I have a close friend whose son is very well-settled. He’s well-qualified, the CEO of his father’s company. I’ve decided... I want you to get married to him."

Phuwin’s eyes widened in shock. "Wait, what? Married? Dad, what are you saying?!"

His father looked at him seriously. "He’s a nice person, Phu. They’re coming here to see you soon. Go and get ready."

Phuwin stood frozen for a moment, unable to believe what he was hearing. "Dad, are you serious right now? I’m still in my final year of college! Why are you talking about marriage all of a sudden? I have so many dreams, ambitions... I want to enjoy my college life, not settle down right now!"

His dad sighed heavily, his face softening with concern. "Phu, I’m doing this for your own good. If you marry him, you’ll be well-settled. I’ll be able to stop worrying about you."

Phuwin frowned, his voice filled with frustration. "But why, Dad? Why do you have to decide this without even asking me what I want?"

His father looked down, his tone becoming more serious. "Phu... you know the kind of work I do. Being a police officer isn’t easy. Anything can happen to me at any time. I need to know that after I’m gone, someone will be there to take care of you. That’s why I want you to marry now, so I can be at peace."

Phuwin’s heart sank as he heard the words. "Dad, nothing’s going to happen to you. Why are you thinking like this?"

His dad reached out and placed a hand on his shoulder, his eyes filled with love and concern. "I’m not saying anything will happen, but it’s my responsibility to make sure you’re taken care of, no matter what. I need you to understand that, Phu."

Phuwin looked at his dad, feeling torn between his dreams and his father’s worries. He sighed deeply, running a hand through his hair. "Dad, I get that you’re worried about me, but this... this is too much, too fast."

His father’s expression remained unchanged. He looked at Phuwin but said nothing, his silence loud and unsettling. Phuwin’s heart began to race as he realized his father wasn’t willing to listen.

Phuwin’s voice wavered as he continued, his emotions battling inside him. "Do my ambitions mean nothing to you? You’re just deciding this for me, without even asking?"

Still, no response. His father simply looked down, avoiding Phuwin’s pleading eyes. The silence was more painful than any words he could have said.

Phuwin clenched his fists, feeling the sting of betrayal and hurt rise in his chest. His voice cracked as he spoke again, this time with a mix of anger and heartbreak. "I can’t believe you’re doing this to me, Dad..."

Without waiting for a response, Phuwin turned on his heel, his heart heavy, and stormed off towards his room. He didn’t want to argue anymore; it was clear his father had already made up his mind. As he reached his room, he slammed the door behind him, leaning against it as tears of frustration welled up in his eyes.

He slid down to the floor, feeling a mix of anger, sadness, and confusion. His dreams, his freedom, everything seemed to be slipping out of his hands, and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
