On Friday evening, Jungkook found himself pacing in his apartment, the soft light of his desk lamp illuminating the papers scattered around him. He'd been working but couldn't focus as he kept on going back to the hike and the warmth of the moment he and Taehyung had shared. He felt a rush of inspiration he hadn't experienced in a long time, and he couldn't wait to see Taehyung.
He was excited for the next time he was going to see the man who made his whole being light up with joy
Flashback :
The drive back after the hike was a mix of comfortable silence and the upbeat tunes still playing softly in the background. Jungkook stole glances at Taehyung, who was humming along, a content smile on his face. The moment earlier on the viewpoint lingered in his mind, the weight of unspoken words and feelings both exhilarating and daunting.
"Did you enjoy the hike?" Taehyung broke the silence, glancing at Jungkook with that familiar spark in his eyes.
"More than I expected," Jungkook replied, his voice steady. "I loved being out there with you. It felt... freeing."
"Right? Sometimes you just need to escape the city." Taehyung's smile widened. "And I'm glad we did this together. You know, I was a little nervous about our first road trip."
"Really? You seemed so confident!" Jungkook laughed, but the laughter faded as he added, "I was nervous too. It felt like a big step."
Taehyung nodded, his expression shifting to something more serious. "Yeah, but it felt right, didn't it? Like we were meant to have this adventure."
Jungkook's heart raced at the thought. "Definitely. It felt like... more than just a trip."
Taehyung turned to him, a curious glint in his eyes. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, I feel like we're building something special. I didn't expect to connect with you like this," Jungkook admitted, vulnerability creeping in. "And now I can't help but wonder where this might lead."
For a moment, the air between them crackled with anticipation. Taehyung's gaze softened, and he bit his lip, a hint of a smile teasing the corners of his mouth. "I've been feeling the same way, Jungkook. I didn't know how to say it."
Jungkook's breath caught in his throat. "So, what do we do about it?"
Taehyung chuckled lightly, as if to ease the tension. "Well, we could keep hanging out and see where this goes. I mean, I'd love to explore more with you—maybe more hikes, or art outings?"
"I'd love that," Jungkook replied, his excitement bubbling up again. "But what if it's more than just friends? What if we're heading toward something... deeper?"
Taehyung's smile faded slightly as he considered Jungkook's words. "Honestly, I've thought about it. The connection we have... it's different. I just didn't want to ruin what we have."
"Me too," Jungkook confessed, his heart racing again. "But I think we owe it to ourselves to explore it. I want to see where this can go, Taehyung."
Taehyung's eyes lit up, a mixture of relief and joy. "Really? You mean that?"
"Absolutely," Jungkook replied, his voice steady. "I want to take that leap."
As they drove, the atmosphere shifted, filled with a warmth that seemed to envelop them. The familiar city skyline began to emerge in the distance, but it felt different somehow, like a new chapter was unfolding.
