Harly and Melody ran through the fair. The gambling tent was somewhere in the middle of the park.

"How many more of your friends do we have to save?" Melody asked. They hated to run around like this. It would have been more practical to apprehend Roulette on the spot but he avoided appearing in person.

"Polly, Ada and Ivory. So three." Harly said, counting on her fingers. "Also we should probably arrest Roulette. For kidnapping because that's super illegal."

"What exactly made him think it was a good idea to attack a Powerine?" Melody said. "You're a reality warper so you're an especially bad person to antagonize."

"He has some kind of beef with my dad," she frowned. "I tried calling him but I can't get a signal. Imagine, in the biggest city in the world and I can't get a damn signal."

Melody checked their phone and realised she was right. "We should look for a way out of this park or at least one of us should."

"Good idea, I didn't think of-"

She ran into a lagomi. They fell over with Harly lying on top of them.

"Thirteen..." the lagomi muttered.

Harly pushed herself off of them. "Sorry about that. Hey wait! I know you."

The lagomi pushed himself up, allowing Melody to take a better look at him. He wore a white tank top tucked into his blue pants. He was stuffing loose locks of blonde hair into his blue knit cap. He looked nervously at Harly.

"Now I got you." Harly said cheerfully. "You're going to help me save my friends."

"Your friends..." he gave a confused glance at Melody.

They shrugged in response. Harly was the spontaneous sort but they weren't sure why she was randomly getting a civilian involved with their situation.

"Yip, you won my find-the-queen game so now you're helping." And with that she grabbed the lagomi's arm and walked off with him.

Melody followed after as he tried to pull himself free.

.....

They took a slight detour to one of the park's entrances. It was crowded by people trying to enter the fairgrounds and the few who want to leave.

"So one of us can just leave and go fetch my dad," Harly explained, "and the rest of us can rescue the performers."

"Oh, that's why you got him involved." Melody looked at Chance.

"No, I got him involved because he won my find-the-queen game. So now he gets to find the joker."

Harly turned to Chance and told him where to find her father. Chance nervously nodded in response then ran toward the exit.

"He didn't look that willing to help," Melody said.

"Well he will have to if he wants his keys back." She smiled as she swung the keyring around her finger.

Melody shrugged. They were about to ask how she met him and why she felt he owed her a favour then the boy came running back.

"There's a forcefield around the park, I can't get through," he said.

Harly walked over to one of the walls that surrounded the park. She frowned. Melody almost assumed she couldn't frown.

She walked a few spaces back then broke into a run. She ran up the side of the wall, ignoring gravity in the process. Once she reached the top, instead of going over, she continued running up. The air rippled where she stepped, as if running on unseen water.

The force field started curving as she ran up. Melody guessed it formed a dome over the park.

Eventually Harly stopped and jumped down, landing a bit behind them.

"There really is a forcefield," Harly said, mostly to herself. She smiled, "Oh well, we'll do it the hard way then."

Melody nodded. "We always end up doing it that way on missions."

Chance looked wide eyed at them. "She just ran up a wall!"

Harly looked at him. "So?"

"That should be impossible."

"Things are only impossible when you limit yourself to that way of thinking," Harly said.

She walked off. Melody followed her. Chance stared after them then leaped forward to catch up with them.

"How did you do that?" he asked Harly.

Harly gave him an amused look. "Just redirected my gravity into the wall."

"But you're not an alien. How do you redirect gravity?"

"Same way they channel vibrations in certain direction," Harly said, refering to Melody.

Chance frowned, thinking. "Let me help you save your friends," he said after a while.

Harly gave him a suprised look. "You want to help?"

"I admit it, I won your find-the-queen game unfairly," he said. "I owe you for cheating."

Harly turned to Melody "I only needed him to get out of the park. What do you think?"

"As long as he stays out of trouble I'm cool with it."

"Can you keep a secret?" She asked Chance.
