Motel / Texas
My eyes burned as I opened them. The pillow stuck to the side of my face like tape on a paper. I growled as I lifted my body. The silk sheets of the bed slid off of me as I made my way to my feet. The fan, at full blast, hit me. The cool breeze was enough for me to open my eyes. A slight adrenaline rushing to my chest, trying to counteract the cold. I looked around the room. A brightness shined from my eyes around every corner of the room. It was nighttime now. My night vision was working even when I was just waking up. I slowly stretched my arms and moved my eyes towards the clock. "12:34 AM." I muttered to myself. I slowly moved to my feet. My body was droggy as I moved on my feet. I groaned as my body stretched itself. I finished and placed my hand to the clothes I had torn off the night before. My claws had hooked my shirt and brought it to my level.I threw it over the muscle shirt I was wearing and buttoned it up. I grabbed my pants and slid them on before buttoning them and adjusting my belt. I swiftly put on my boots and huffed. I was done. I looked out the window. It shinned through the window. I smiled as I tucked in my shirt. The flannel ran along my body tightly. Might as well look nice. I moved around my room. I chased for my keys and my wallet. I slid them in my pocket and looked around the room. Nothing but a creepy stained wall and ruined bedsheets from my claws remained. I grabbed the door handle and pulled it open. I stepped through and shut it behind me. I looked in the hallway. Not a soul stood in the way. How I prefer it. I started to move down the hallway and to the front of the motel. The receptionist still be open considering they swap. As I moved a voice drew louder. "No, I'm tellin' you Ron. This umbrella corps... i- it's cancer man. Guaranteed, they're the ones doing everything in Romania." I rolled my eyes before I entered the doorway to the receptionist room.
Wonderful. Another vampire roomer. I get I was a worse man when they made it but the fact my previous actions are still haunting me is crazy. Even after 1,000 years. I walked in to see the men dart their heads over. I held the keys in my hand. "Hey, guys." I greeted. The one who was originally talking smiled. "Look, Ron. We got a VERY early riser." He said. I smiled slightly. "Yep, got to go to Kansas." I said with a grin. They clicked their tongues and went to their computer. The motel's atmosphere consisted of a faint cigarette smell and a defined smell of alcohol. I didn't mind it. "In other news. Romania has been accused of more strange crimes. Victims drained of their blood and left in the streets with not even a single knife wound. Just piercing marks on their necks. Could vampires be real?" The radio they had said. I looked at it. "You believe in them?" The main man asked. I shook my head. "I don't believe in things that go bump in the night, man." I said. He smiled. He moved his head to his friend. "Yo! You almost done. This guy needs to get out of here!" He yelled. His friend hummed as he typed. The man looked back at me. "You know I've been to Romania." I raised my eyebrows. No doubt a story about vampires. "How was it?" He shook his head. "Man, you're gonna laugh." He said with a serious face. "Hit me."
He sighed. "I use to work for umbrella corps." He started. I perked my eyebrows. "Oh, yeah?" I said interested. He nodded. "Sent us to Romania. We stumbled upon a village. Almost on the outskirts in snowy places you can't get to. Surrounded by mountains. But the thing about the village..." He leaned in. "They worshiped horsemen. And a black angel. A castle stood, hovering the village. If you ever plan to go, I'd avoid it." He said. He finished and looked puzzled. "Why'd I tell you that?" Confusion drew on his face. I raised my hand. "Hey, man. People like to tell me things. Don't worry about it." I said with a gentle smile. He hummed. He still looked perplexed. "Are yo-"Here you go man." His friend jumped in, cutting him off. I clicked my tongue. "Ah." I muttered. I took a paper he gave me and traded him with the keys. "Y'all fellas have a good night." I finished. They both nodded as they looked at each other. "Why'd you tell him?" I heard leaving the motel.
I stepped outside and shut the door. The moonlight shined over the parking lot. A dim streetlight shined. I looked around the lot. Not a soul. "Romania, huh?" My blood boiled. Any imposter would need to be executed. I felt my arms start to expand. A dark mist started to creep over me. My eyes turned blood red. I felt myself shift and form different. The mist ceased. A bat form took me over. Thoughts raced through my mind as my wings fluttered. Do I stay? Let them go? Surely I will outlive them? Maybe I'll just check it out. I flapped my wings and the sky took me. The wind brushed through my wings as I glided. The night was still. The air was thin. I would be there soon enough.
