Chapter Three: I Love You
"Check." Shikamaru muttered.
"So, you're really crazy about this girl, huh?" Asuma said. Shikamaru's brown eyes flew open in shock! Did he really want to play shogi or did want to know about my love life?
"Well, yeah." Shikamaru rubbed at the back of his neck awkwardly. "Why are you asking me this?"
"One: I saw you running in the rain while carrying her." I remember that day.
~~Flashback-Yesterday~~
You listened carefully to Shikamaru's heartbeat. It always lulled you to sleep, despite the factor you were 90% sure it was slower than it should be. You were cuddled up to him underneath the tree that you both always laid under. The idea of going to sleep seemed better and better. Your eyes closed.
"It looks like it's going to rain." Shikamaru stated. He sighed. "What a drag." You watched as the rain sprinkled down.
"It's not that hard. It could go away soon." You reasoned. His eyes rolled up in thought... then laziness settled in.
"Probably."
A Few Hours Later:
(f/n), you liar. The rain only got worse. Now, you're asleep and not waking up. What a drag! Shikamaru looked down at your sleeping form. Damn, she's adorable. Knowing that you weren't going to be waking up anytime soon, he carefully picked you up and stood under the tree. The more I stay in the rain, the higher chance she could get sick. Oh, what a drag! I'm going to have to run.
~~Flashback End~~
"She fell asleep in the rain. It was only right to take her home." Shikamaru reasoned.
"I can't even get to run during training. How'd you get in her house anyway?"
~~Flashback-Key~~
"Here. There's a key for Temari, Kankuro, you, and me." Gaara distributed the keys out to everyone as he said their names.
"WAIT! I totally need two keys." You murmured.
"Why?" Kankuro questioned with a rather curious tone.
"Because I'm probably going to lose this one. If I lost my key while all of you were back at home, I'd be stuck. So, my plan is to hide one and find it when I need it." You got quieter. "I'll probably forget where I hid it, but I'd have something here."
"What happens if you lose both of them?" Temari teased. You held your finger up as a proud look crossed your face.
"I break into Sakura's house!" They all sweat-dropped.
"I thought you two didn't like each other." Kankuro muttered.
"They don't." Temari answered.
"That is why I said 'break' in. Geez, do you guys even listen to me?"
"She's gonna end up starting a war."
"Here." Gaara surrendered an extra key to you.
"Thank you!" You ran and opened the door. "I'mma go hide this now!"
A Few Minutes Later:
"Why are you giving me this?" Shikamaru asked as he held out his hand. "What is it?" You dropped the key into his awaiting hand.
