Puppet - Kankuro x Reader

(f/n) was a young girl, age 20. She worked at a toy store that is located in the Sand Village. In her hands was a modeling puppet. She toyed with the old, scratched-up, withered item. It may not look like much, but it reminded her of her boyfriend, Kankuro. He went out on a mission a few days ago and was supposed to return home soon.

The puppet was a memento from the day the first met.

FLASHBACK~

(f/n) sat down on a stool that was pulled up to the counter. Her father had brought her to work today. He went out for a bit, and she soon became bored, so she picked up the nearest item; a modeling puppet. It was mahogany and wasn't very tall. It also didn't have a stand like the rest of them did.

(f/n) carefully twisted the puppet around and stared at the label on its back. (l/n)'s Land of Toys. She made a gentle "hmph" sound before turning it back around. Suddenly, the doll sprung to life! It stood on the palm of her and bowed! (f/n)'s (e/c) orbs were wide open. H-how is it moving?!

"W-wha....?" She murmured to herself. It stood straight up, faced the door, and pointed. Her pupils slowly followed the puppet's arm. A boy stood there, well.... He was actually hiding behind the door; a quarter of the way in. His hair was shaggy and brown, and he was dressed in a plain white shirt and brown shorts.

"H-hi!" He went to run, but (f/n) shouted out!

"HEY! Don't go!" He slowly, very slowly walked into the store fully. (f/n) gave him a gentle smile. "Hi! I'm (f/n)!" A small blush spread across his cheeks.

"I'm Kankuro."

FLASHBACK END~

(f/n) got lost in memories of her and Kankuro. He had been beside her ever since then; from her father's death to her 20th birthday. He was basically all that she had left, which made her have panic attacks when he went on missions. What would happen if I lost him? That question always snuck up on her. What would she do without him? Her father was only family she had left and when he died, she relied on the only thing she had left, him.
She was so wrapped up in memories that she jumped when she felt something move! Her eyes fled to look down at her hands. The puppet stood straight up and then kneeled. A small chuckled escaped her lips as it stood back up. It held a wooden arm to its face; a sign to be quiet, and then walked over the drawer in front of her. It grabbed onto the pull and yanked backwards slightly. It reach in and pulled out a small back box! It kneeled down on her palm and opened up the box to reveal a ring!

(f/n)'s hand flew to her mouth! She laughed breathily into it as tears streamed down her cheeks. The puppet twisted its upper half back some and extended an arm behind towards the door. (f/n)'s eyes slowly followed and Kankuro stood there with a card that said, "Will you marry me?"
