Georgia-Anne

I waited at the Cafe for Wesley for our first studying session. I waited at the empty table outside, already ordering a Chai latte for myself, and a everything bagel. It was going to be a long night. I had my books placed on the tables, getting his class information from Ethan and Wes. The leaves fell, the air was crispy, fall coming quicker than I ever thought. I stared at my phone, waiting for the purr of his truck to reach my ears letting me know he's here.

I had my highlights and tabs for showing him the most important parts in hot pink and little things to know in orange. My leg bounced up and down, hitting the metal table slightly as I looked up, hearing Wesley's truck. He walked over, a cigarette hanging from his lip. He took a seat across from me, glancing down toward all of the books.

'What are these?" Wesley asked, his hand gesturing between the books. I slowly looked up to him, shutting my phone off and placing it down.

"It's the things were going to go over until your first test." I said, pulling the zip up more over my shoulders. Wesley looks blankly at me. I don't know why he was confused, he asked me for this. "Don't look so disappointed, you asked for it." I scoffed, opening the first book. It was about Athletic Training, healthcare based class. I'm not sure why he did it, but I didn't press. We got the load of the Athletic Training down pretty fast, as he actually seemed interest in it before we moved on. We moved to Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Mathematics and Nutrition. He had a load of classes that I was starting to get bored of. He had a lot of random classes, but it was easy when he was interested in it, besides math. I didn't blame him for not liking it.

We spent a few hours going over it, Wesley ordering a few things for himself, a huge omelet for himself. I raised my brows as he ate it as he listened, answering the questions with his mouth full.

"Close your mouth, Wesley, that's gross." I scolded him, but he only shrugged.

"Don't be such a downer, you know? Maybe you should put some meat on your bones and take a bite." He muttered, slicing into the eggs.

"You're an asshole." I stated, my head held high.

"But you'll still tutor me right?" Wes asked mockingly, tipping his head toward me, a cigarette hanging from his lips. How could he be the football star at our college, but smoke cigarettes?

"Those things kills you, by the way." I pointed out the almost out cigarette. I raised my brows, a knowing smile spreading across Wes's face. He tilted his head, slowly pushing the cigarette butt out, before flicking it away. I sighed, highlighting one of the notes. All he needed to do was actually study this work. I'm sure he would. All he did was shrug, sliding one of the notebooks back to him.

He looked around the cafe, his eyes landing on the menu as his eyes roamed over them. Was he still eating? He's eaten about three large things, and two waters. Maybe he just needed energy. I looked away from him, and back to the books. Our tutor session was over. We had gone over everything I had planned for.

"You know what people are sayin' about us, Georgia?" Wes spoke up suddenly. I looked up from the book, furrowing my brows slightly.

"What? What're they saying?" I asked, shifting in my seat as I closed the book suddenly, immersed in the way the conversation was going.

"They're saying you like me," He started, his voice low as he leaned forward. Bullshit. I didn't like Wesley. "I wouldn't blame you, but you could've just told me." Wes shrugged. I didn't know why he was being such a nosey little asshole tonight. Maybe that was his true nature.

"I don't like you, Donavan, get your head out of your ass." I scoffed. Why would anyone say I liked him? Because I was tutoring him? It's like children go here. I shifted in my seat, pulling out my small wallet. i pulled out a twenty dollar bill, placing it on my side of the table. I saw his face drop.

"Where are you going, Georgia?' Wes asked, quickly fishing out money from his pockets, tossing it onto the table. "Georgia, I didn't mean it." Wes insisted as I walked away. I moved toward my car angrily. I knew he had that football ego but I didn't know it was that bad.

"You're insufferable, Wesley." I said over my shoulder as I grabbed my keys. I unlocked my car. "Don't forget to grab your books and actually study them." I muttered as I sat in the car, and started it. I left him standing there, his lips parted as he stared at the back of my car as I pulled out of the cafe parking lot.

***

I Sat on my bed, listening to Sophia and Ethan about some sort of date night. I pulled the pillow across the stomach, watching the poorly made horror movie. I thought about the sheer amount of audacity Wesley used wit me today. I hated the thought of people actually thinking that I liked Wesley. Sure, he was attractive but there was a difference.

The front door opened, and I heard Sarah and Wesley's voice. I rolled my eyes, laying down as I stared at the scene. I was starting to not like Wesley, and I didn't have a reason, but I did.

I Pulled the blankets over the pillow and my body, listening to the loud conversations and the cracks of beers. It wasn't a shocker that they drank, it was just weird as it was so late at night, but I suppose that's normal.

I twisted my lips together as I heard heir laughter, mainly Sarah's, her laughs annoying the shit out of me. I shook out the negative thoughts, as I was trying to be as positive as I wanted to be. It's always better to be positive, even if there was a grating bitch in your house.

I eventually fell asleep to the sounds of Wesley's laugh and voice, only to wake to arguing, which was extremely heated. Even though it's not my business, I really wanted to know what's going on. I moved off of my bed, opening the door. Wesley barely looked at me, but Sarah turned around completely to look at me. Her face was red, and I winced as soon as she opened her mouth.

"You are ruining my relationship, Georgia!" She screamed. I was sure we were going to get a shit ton of complaints. I was about to respond, but of course, she cut me off. "I bet you think you're so fucking happy he's single, I bet you're so, glad you have a chance with this whore!" She yelled, gesturing back to Wesley. His jaw was clenched, his eyes darkened as he stared at Sarah's back.

"I'm not sure why you're yelling in my house, and when everyone else is sleeping, Sarah." I said calmly, staring up at her for a moment, before looking back toward Wesley. I swallowed thickly.

"You are a bitch, Georgia!" Sarah screeched. Wesley let out a sharp laugh, her head snapping back to him. "Why are you laughing?!" She cocked her head toward him.

"Because, you cheated on me, and you're over here, blaming Georgia? For what?" Wesley's voice raised with each word. His voice was loud and booming off of the walls. "So don't stand here, and call her a bitch, knowing that you're the one that ruined this relationship!" He barked at her. I suddenly felt uncomfortable for being in the middle of a break up. Sarah had turned white, and Wesley ran a hand down his face. "I know what you did, I know, Sarah! I loved you, like a lot! My family loved you!" He yelled. Ethan came through Sophia's bedroom door. Sophia was still surprisingly asleep. I glanced between them.

"I didn't love you!" Sarah argued. I could practically see Wesley's heart drop. "I never, ever, did. What made you think I could ever love a man with a fucked up childhood? I just dated you because everyone said you were easy!" Sarah scoffed, raising her arms in surrender. "I don't know what yo want from me anymore, Wesley." Sarah sighed.

"I wanted you to love me! I wanted you to love me the way I loved you!" He yelled at her, taking a step closer, his hands clenching and unclenching. "I would've done anything for you!" He screamed. I blinked slowly, shifting awkwardly. Would it be rude if I simply left? Sarah began to cry. I didn't feel any type of sympathy for her. She did this to herself.

Ethan muttered something to Wesley. He ran a hand down his face before he watched Sarah run out. I looked back at them slowly. Wesley looked at me for a moment before making his way to the door. I stood still for a moment, looking back toward Ethan. He shrugged, going back into Sophia's room.

So, is he single..?
