I know she's a master of her craft, and I could watch her boss around her employees for days, but she needs a break.

Velvette has been working around the clock these past few days because of our upcoming plan. It's finally in motion and it needs to go perfectly. Our plan for a total Hellish takeover is only hours away. With my ability to shapeshift into anyone, I can easily influence Hell to do whatever we please by performing as whoever we need on Sinstagram. For our newer arrivals that still worship Lucifer, sending messages as the King of Hell himself explaining our plan of attack is simple. For those who strongly follow Carmilla, it's the same process.

My thoughts are interrupted as I listen to Velvette critique her employee's choice of outfits for the day.

"No!" She points to the first one.

"Absolutely not." The second is denied.

"What is this? Skinny jeans?! What are you? A thirty-year-old middle manager millennial in Fall? Throw them in the trash along with the pumpkin spiced latte I know you're going to order!" The third is roasted. At least no one was fired today.

"Velvette, honey. You seriously need a break." I remind her, putting my hands on her shoulders, trying to get her to relax.

Velvette lets out a drastic sigh. She puts her hands up to her face, runs her fingers down past her eyes, and stops at her cheeks.

"I know, you're right darling. Thank you." She says calmly, dismissing her employees and turning to look at me with a small smile.

I'm a little frustrated with her last comment, how many times do I have to remind her? "I've asked you not to call me that." I know my voice has a little bit of a bite to it. "It reminds me of him." I fold my arms and roll my eyes, my fox tail swaying in irritation.

"Shit. Sorry." Velvette apologizes, putting her hand on my arm. "I know it wasn't easy, but I think you made the right choice." She verifies the question that was rolling around in my head. "He never had your best interest." She reminds me.

"Ugh, I know." I lighten up a bit, uncrossing my arms and holding my hand in hers. "I'm still waiting for the backlash, honestly." I mention with a slight laugh. "It's not everyone who has a public break up with the Radio Demon and gets to live to talk about it."

"Oh, I know, babe. And that's one of the many things I adore about you." Velvette says as she puts her other hand on my cheek. I can't help but rest my head into her touch just a little. "I get to spend every day with the bad bitch who not only found a heart in Alastor, but broke it."

She's not wrong. It was messy for sure, but it needed to happen.

"Remember when you showed up to your first overlord meeting?" Velvette asks me, making me laugh and roll my eyes a little.

"Yeah, I know. I was acting like such a bad ass. I'm sorry for using my powers on you. It was uncalled for." I sincerely apologize.

Velvette laughs, remembering that day. "Well, I came off a bit strong too." She admits. "But it was him that told you to behave that way, wasn't it? Telling you barge into the meeting and claim that you killed him." She asks.

"Oh, that day was such a crazy day! I was-" Before I can explain the instructions that Alastor gave me on that day my phone goes off. Velvette and I both look at the screen and don't recognize the number. I ignore it and put it back in my pocket.

I look out the window at the city below, a big smile on my face. "To think, at the end of the day, Hell will be ours for the taking." I can't believe we're this close.

"Yeah yeah, that's great (y/n)." Velvette seems a bit dismissive of my excitement. It must just be her nerves for today. "So, how exactly did your relationship with Alastor start? How did you two meet?" She asks.

"We actually knew each other back when we were living." I begin, getting a strange look from Velvette. I don't think that was the answer she was expecting. "He actually tried to kill me but failed. When I ended up here, I was terrified of running into him, so I did everything I could to avoid him. I got into a deal with Husk back when he was an overlord, but that turned out to bite me in the butt. So now-" My phone rings again.

When I pull it out of my pocket, it's still an unknown number. I look at Velvette and shrug, figuring if I keep ignoring it then it will just keep ringing.

"No! Don't-!" Velvette starts saying right as I answer the call.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Remember. You still owe me one more favor." I recognize that voice. His voice sounds different than I remember though. He sounds more distorted, a bit darker. My eyes narrow in anger.

"I don't owe you shit, Alastor." I growl.

"Since when does he use phones?!" Velvette asks, her tone just as angry as mine. I shrug, not sure how to answer her question.

"One more favor, and I'll set Husker free. Just like I promised." Alastor states on the other end of the phone.

He's right. Even though we didn't end on the best of terms, we still have an agreement. Three favors in return of Husk's freedom. It sounds like he'd still be willing to honor that agreement.

"Humor me." I respond to Alastor, still not sounding very happy with him.

"It's quite simple, darling." Alastor laughs. There's that word again. "For your last favor, I just need you to wake up. Break out. Snap out of it. Remember and come back." He states.

I want to complete this favor and set Husk free, but what does he mean?

"Hang up on him." Velvette instructs. She sounds extremely frustrated. I don't blame her, but I need him to clarify.

"(y/n)." I hear his voice on the phone again, grabbing my attention. "Please... come back." Alastor sounds upset. Of course he would be, the breakup did hit him pretty hard. "Without you, I... I-" I interrupt his statement with a small laugh.

"You'd cease to exist?" I jokingly ask. But there's something about that phrase. I've heard that before. Alastor has said that before. He was sitting at the bar with Husk, at the Hazbin Hotel. Recently! Not because we broke up. He said it because he was worried about losing me. Husk was giving Alastor scenarios on what he would do if I was seeing someone else. Those thoughts upset him. That just proves he cares about me.

If that's the case, we never broke up. Alastor still owns my soul. Our relationship has grown quite a bit since then. We've gotten so close, and I've become so strong thanks to his help. We had a plan to take down the V's and this wasn't part of it. Something went wrong somewhere. I must be trapped in some sort of alternate universe or something. I'm not too sure what's going on. I know I'm not dating Velvette.

I know this isn't real.
