It's one of the gory books of ours (though nothing beats "The Revolt" or "The Forest of The Hanged" by Liviu Rebreanu or even his "Calvary).
The tyrant kills his enemies and builds a god damned pyramid from their skulls. Then he calls his wife in to show her his masterpiece.
Apart from this episode, the book is a gripping story of betrayal, tyrany and historical drama, based on actual events that took place during Alexandru Lăpușneanu's reign in Moldova.
