I woke up with an unpleasant feeling. In a moment I knew the origin of the feeling. Someone was touching me. Touching the wounds on my neck. I jerked and sat up quickly. "Get away from me." I yelled at the man, climbing off the bed and pressing myself against the wall. It wasn't until now that I noticed that in the room, besides the man who was touching me, were Dylan, the other man from the car, and an elderly lady. I tearfully took in their worried expressions. After a few seconds, they all exchanged worried glances and Dylan nodded his head at the older lady standing to his right. She turned to me, and took a few hesitant steps in my direction. I straightened my back. "Hey." She greeted me in a soft, pleasant voice. "My name is Esther." She paused, and took a few more hesitant steps "We just want to help you. This is Dr. Lewis, and he would like to treat your wounds, will you let him?" she spoke to me in a soothing voice, as if I were a five year old. It made me sad. I ran my eyes over everyone a few more times and nodded slightly. Esther smiled at me and shook my hand. I looked at her for a moment and then looked into her eyes. She figured I wouldn't accept her hand, so she just smiled again and straightened up. I jerkily stood up and took a step towards the bed. I looked at the doctor. He seemed like a nice older gentleman who liked to help. But I didn't trust him that much. As I stood by the bed, I wondered if I should lie down. I didn't want to. After a few minutes of convincing myself, I finally sat up at least. Dr. Lewis turned to everyone present and asked them to leave the room for the safety of his patient. Dylan's lips quivered and a deep growl escaped his chest. Esther put her hand on his shoulder and he tensed. I pulled the blanket up to my neck. When Dylan saw this, he looked at me apologetically and nodded to the doctor. The next moment, the room was empty. "So, miss..." the sentence rang hollow because he didn't know my name and I didn't want to tell him. He didn't force me so he continued "I will give you a routine check-up but I will also want to give you a more extensive check-up which would include a full body X-ray, CT scan, MRI and other necessary tests". I rolled my eyes at him. I felt like a guinea pig. Of course, I knew some of the medical tests, but I was still scared. I didn't want anyone touching me or looking at me. "Can we get started?" He asked with gentleness and pleading in his voice. I nodded in response, but I didn't move. It took him maybe half an hour to finally convince me to get examined. When I revealed myself to him, he just froze, not knowing where to look first. My body was covered in bruises that were days or even weeks old. The lacerations and cuts overlapped one over the other. The doctor was silent for a long time, looking at me intently. I didn't know what to do or where to look. His indecision made me even more nervous than I already was. After a moment, I gave up and quickly put on the large t-shirt I had been wearing since I first woke up and covered myself with the blanket. To my surprise, the doctor didn't object. He just nodded and quietly left. I didn't know what was going to happen, so I waited and listened tensely. Fatigue fell upon me, which was immediately replaced by fear. From behind the door, I could hear things breaking, ghostly growls, and glass shattering. I pressed my hands to my ears and started rocking back and forth. My whole body shook with shock and fear. After a while the noise died down, but I stayed that way for the next few hours before falling asleep. I was only woken up by Esther placing a tray of food on my bedside table. I moved lightning fast to the other side of the bed and stared at her silently. Ester smiled softly and sat on the edge of the bed. "I brought you dinner. I didn't know what you were in the mood for, so there's a little of everything." She motioned toward the tray and looked back into my eyes. I preferred not to blink. Esther eventually stood up, quietly left the room and closed the door behind her. I had a terrible hunger that made me physically sick. But I didn't dare eat. I decided to go to the toilet and then went back to sleep.

She's so fragile. Khol and I thought. "How the hell could he dare throw me out of my own bedroom?!" I growled towards Esther and Luke. "Imagine being in her shoes. We don't know what she's been through or how many people have done to her, and now she'd have six extra eyes watching her during a medical exam." Esther uttered firmly and clearly. But put it this way, she is, of course, right. The wait felt like an eternity. "She can't do any proper tests here. I just wanted him to check her and then we'd take her to our hospital. I should have brought her there right away, I'm an idiot." I muttered to myself. No one answered me and we waited in silence. I saw Luke shoot me a fleeting glance. He was probably wondering why my heart was beating so fast. To tell the truth, I was scared. I didn't know what verdict the doctor would come up with, and that scared me beyond belief. After a moment of silence, I broke the silence. I turned to face my two companions, took a deep breath, and tried to gather my courage. "I think she's my soulmate... My Luna and your future queen." I blurted it out as fast as I could so I wouldn't have time to shut up. There was another pause. They both stared at me in amazement, but after a moment, wide smiles spread across their faces. Luke jumped into the air and Esther threw her arms around my neck "I knew it!" She squealed into my shoulder. There they were, smiling at each other like little kids, completely oblivious to the world around them. My smile fell the moment Lewis opened the door. I waited for him to close it behind him and immediately started asking questions eagerly. I knew it wasn't going to be pretty because his expression gave it away, but I tried not to lose hope. Lewis looked at me like he was scalded. He looked at me with pity in his eyes and shook his head "I can't.". He whispered it so weakly and dejectedly that I was more confused than before. He's a doctor. He's seen everything. Lewis pursed his lips tightly, gathering his courage. "I don't know how to describe it. Even when I was treating men after the war ...." he paused, and I waited anxiously to see if he would come next. "I didn't actually see her body." I raised one eyebrow, and Lewis continued. "I mean, I have seen it. Yes, she did eventually want to be examined. But I didn't expect what would come when she undressed. You know ... she's not supposed to see a bit of intact skin anywhere." He looked up to see my eyes. "Your father's prisoners were not so wretched." he said quietly, with respect and fear. Khol and I began to freak out. Not only was my father a fanatical, insane torturer whom I would have preferred to kill myself, but he compared her condition to something my father was capable of doing? I began to change, howling, breaking things as I waved my massive paws in rage. I clicked my teeth in vain until I finally ran to the hallway window, jumped through it, and ran towards the woods.
