Chapter 5: Shelly

I noticed that he had been ignoring me for the past few days.
He was not answering my calls or messages.

We didn't meet either as we were shooting our solo scenes in different countries.
This made me think that, why was he doing so?
Was it deliberate, or was he actually busy?
Did I do something to make him act like that?

I asked a crew member to contact him, but he said he didn't want to talk to me.
What? Why?

Why was he acting that way? What could have happened?
I didn't know why he was he doing so, but that was making me uneasy.

It became a habit to tell him everything. To be with him. The way he cared. The way he just sat there even when I didn't feel like talking. The way he held my hand when I was at my low.

I missed everything & missed it more as I could not even see him.

After a few weeks,
we both completed our solos & returned to LA.
This was the right time to clear everything. Hence, I decided to talk to him.

I walked to his van & knocked.
"Who's it?"

"It's me, whom you have been ignoring for the past few weeks!"

The door opened. I walked in. He didn't say anything.
It was a long, stretched silence before I spoke.
"Theo, is there something you want to say? What happened? Why are you....ignoring me? Is something wrong?"

"Oh, come on, Shelly. Why are you being....so clingy? Nothing has happened. I just had a busy schedule & right now, I'm doing my lines. We'll talk later."

How dared he just shrug me off like that?

That made me angry, mad & and confused at the same time, realising that, why was I being like that? Why was he affecting me so much?

I knew he was my friend but, why it affected me when he was not with me? Why I missed him? Missed him holding my hand, his look, his eyes?

I was going to speak but just then, I heard someone screaming my name.
"SHELLY, WHERE ARE YOU? THE DIRECTOR IS LOOKING FOR YOU...."

It was Jasmine.

A thought came to my mind to tell her everything, whatever was going on in my mind.
Whenever I felt low or someone to talk to, she was always there, supporting me & having my back.

But, I had to go for the scene & decided to tell her some other time.

I went to the director.

After a few minutes, Theo was also there. I ignored all the thoughts coming to my mind about him & started to discuss the next scenes with the director.

The director gave the script to us.
"So, guys...this is an intense scene that we are going to shoot. You both have to kiss in this scene. It's gonna take time to get the shot ready, so be prepared for it."

My eyes got wide & flew to Theo, but his face was stoic as always, so I, too, acted calm.
