Munakata Kyosuke feels ill, angry, hurt at the sight.

Tengan Kazuo is still alive.

And it is a mockery of Kyosuke's suffering.

Tengan found a way to live and now he dares stand here, in front of Kyosuke, smiling. The very fact that the man is still breathing, still inhaling oxygen, and still has a beating heart is nothing but a giant fucking mockery of Kyosuke's pain and suffering. Not just his, but Sakakura's and all the lives that were lost in this ridiculous killing game.

Tengan's breathing alone makes the vice chairman's blood boil, burning so hot that his blood is vaporized in his veins. He wants to punch the stupid fucking grin off Tengan's smug face and he wants to punch him so hard that he'd be taking over Sakakura's title as the ultimate boxer. Or perhaps it'd be more like letting Sakakura's spirit possess him and grant him boxing skills in exchange for existing within Kyosuke's body. Kyosuke likes the idea of the latter better, because then at least Sakakura can still live in spite of death, even if for just a moment. Sakakura deserves to be the one standing there alive, smiling because he had saved them all. But no, Sakakura is dead now and this old asswipe is still alive and it's because of said old asswipe that Sakakura now requires a proper burial. Because of course, Kyosuke knows that his deceased companion deserves that much at the very least.

Kyosuke knows that he is a monster for bringing harm upon his now dead bestfriend but at least he has the decency to feel guilt. He'd do anything to go back in time and prevent himself from hurting Sakakura. But Tengan smiles knowing what suffering he's inflicted, what despair he's spread. It's complete and utter bullshit.

It should Tengan's sorry ass that Kyosuke is burying. Kyosuke was sure he had drained every last drop of life out of the old man. Kyosuke is trembling with rage, he can not stand the sight of the old man now. Not with knowing what Tengan had done, and what Tengan had convinced him was true. Kyosuke understood now that it had always been Tengan's intention to decieve him and make him spiral into madness. For what reason, Kyosuke couldn't understand, perhaps it was to test his dedication to hope or perhaps it was in hopes that he would crack and finally succumb to the despair that always surrounded them.

"You don't look so happy to see me," Tengan commented, still grinning, "then again, I suppose that you haven't been for a long time. Considering you wanted to kill me all this time."

"How are you still alive?" Kyosuke questioned, hardly able to keep his voice steady with all the anger building up inside. He pointed his sword at Tengan's throat, a silent promise that this time he was going to guarantee that the old man was dead. He was going to make sure Tengan paid the price. Kyosuke blamed himself for Sakakura's death, he knew it was his fault but he also knew that Tengan had guided him to that destructive path. Kyosuke was guilty for Sakakura's death, but Tengan was just as guilty and Tengan was going to pay for it.

"Kimura certainly was a talented young woman, I'm sure we both can agree," Tengan stared into his eyes. If looks could kill, Tengan would've died more times than cats have lives.

"You don't deserve to make use of the product of a talent that you destroyed," Kyosuke hissed.

"Last time I checked, Kimura wanted to make herself useful."

"Never to you, if she had known. She would never have given her talent to hope so watered down that it can only be classified as despair."

"Ah but she didn't get to live to see the whole picture, so what does those what ifs matter? You can only keep moving forward now."

"Why did you do this? Why did you kill everyone?"

"I didn't kill anyone. They all killed themselves, I know that you know this by now."
