SAM

I woke up with a bucket of water spilled on my face. I felt numb; I couldn't even feel my hands. I was in a dark basement, surrounded by what seemed like ten men. My hands were tied, and I couldn't remember anything. Why the hell am I here? Am I going to die? Will I see my mom again? A panic attack was starting to take over until... I was slapped. That's when the realization hit me: I had been kidnapped. I was on my way to the company to attend the shareholders' meeting when someone blocked my car and forcibly took me. They made me inhale something, and I passed out.

"That's for killing my fiancée and my unborn child!"

Oh God, who's this damn hottie? Oh, shit, Sam, you're crazy. He's going to kill you.

"You bitch!" He grabbed my neck. Oh God, I'm going to die. That's my cue to snap back to reality.

"You fucking asshole!" He stopped and grabbed both my arms. He smiled wickedly, then gave a signal to his men. Someone brought him a chair, which he placed in front of me.

"I'm not going to kill you, Portman. I'm not a killer like you." He stared into my eyes. "Even though that's exactly what I'd like to do right now."

"I'm not a killer, you moron! I didn't kill anyone." He laughed loudly.

"You're a manipulative, lying bitch." He pointed at me. "Don't you remember the accident two weeks ago? How could you, though? You were drunk!" Suddenly, I remembered the incident, but I didn't recall what happened after—I had woken up in the hospital.

"Who are you? How do you know me?" I asked. His men laughed, but he raised his hand, signaling them to stop.

"Knoxx Sanders." He moved closer to my face. Oh yeah, I've heard his name—one of the business tycoons running the city with his wealth. But I'm not interested in business news, so I never saw his face before. I knew he was a billionaire, owning resorts, hotels, and a tech company. "I know everything about you, Samantha Nathalia Portman—the spoiled, bratty heiress of Portman Tech, whoring around the city." He laughed sarcastically.

"What do you want?" He didn't answer.

"Untie her! Leave no marks, you know what to do. Get rid of her." He stood up from his chair.

"You ruthless bastard, Sanders! You'll pay for this! See you in hell!" I shouted.

"Whatever, Portman!" he replied, waving dismissively as he left.

His men dragged me out of the basement. I didn't see that bastard's face again.

"What do you want from me? Money? I'll give it to you," I tried talking to his goons, but they just shoved me into a van. I had no idea where they were taking me. Oh God, I don't want to die like this. If this is the end, there's nothing I can do.

The van stopped in a dark forest. They pulled me out again. "What are you going to do with me? Do you think they won't find out who killed me? Don't you know who I am?" I shouted, but they just laughed. These Sanders' men are nuts.

Suddenly, another vehicle arrived and honked loudly. Sanders' men scrambled back to the van, leaving me in the middle of the road. I waved at the approaching car, thinking someone might be there to save me.

"How's the game going, Miss?" The men in the car laughed. They were playing with me. I froze in place. These guys seemed even creepier than Sanders' men. I backed away, but one of them grabbed me.

"Where do you think you're going, Miss Beautiful?"

"Get your hands off me!" I tried to run, but they had already surrounded me. There was nowhere to go. This might really be the end for me. Whatever happens, I'll fight back. At least I learned some martial arts in high school. I regretted not continuing it now. I fought back, even if it was a losing battle. I ran as fast as I could, but they kept chasing me. My legs were shaking from exhaustion, but I could still hear their laughter behind me, even though I had gained some distance.

"Hey, sweetie!" They found me again and cornered me. The area was dark, and I didn't know where to run. One of them grabbed me, but I pushed him away, only to trip over a large rock. As I fell, I tumbled down a cliff. I could hear some of them shouting, but I had no strength left. I didn't know how deep the fall was. And then, everything went black.
