We stayed in that position for a few minutes. I had been completely swept away by my emotions. I didn't care about what was happening anymore; all I knew was that we were married, and it wasn't wrong to consummate our marriage—even if we were only married on paper and there were no feelings involved.
Knoxx continued making me feel pleasure, and my moans filled the entire penthouse. Because of that, he became even more intense, exploring my entire body.
Suddenly, I was jolted awake when he paused slightly to remove his pants. I swallowed hard when I got a close look at him.
"Knoxxxxx?... Yu...hooooo!" Someone suddenly shouted from the living room.
"Shit!" We both panicked, not knowing what to do, as if we'd been doused with cold water.
"Knoxx?" the voice called again, moving closer to the kitchen.
"It's Misty!" We would both die if she found us together in this situation. Knoxx quickly pulled his pants back up and set me down on the kitchen island. In a frenzy, I hid below it, suddenly embarrassed by what we had done. I didn't expect this to happen.
Oh my God! My clothes! I suddenly realized I was completely naked and hiding.
The footsteps grew closer, and I grew more frantic. I couldn't find my clothes anywhere.
"Misty, you're here." His voice sounded noticeably nervous.
"I've been ringing the doorbell for a while. You didn't answer; what were you doing?" she asked. "Good thing you haven't changed the code for your penthouse; it's still the same," she added.
"I was cooking breakfast," Knoxx replied.
"Really? You cook now?" She laughed a little. "Wait, do you have someone with you here?" she asked, her tone suggestive.
"Ah, no," he replied. "I was just about to eat, but then you showed up. You didn't tell me you were coming," he reasoned.
My position under the kitchen island was getting uncomfortable. Can't this guy sense anything? Knoxx, seriously! Why is this woman here? I fumed silently.
KNOXX
I didn't know whether to laugh or be annoyed. Sam looked so guilty, like she'd committed a crime. I was also annoyed with Misty for interrupting what Sam and I were doing. I was a little shaken up earlier, almost getting caught.
"We can go to the living room," I suggested to Misty.
"I thought you were going to eat?" she asked, clearly suspicious. I was irritated, afraid we'd get busted, and I glanced over to where Sam was hiding. Then I got nervous again when I noticed her underwear scattered across the kitchen floor. Misty couldn't see them from where she was, but she might come over and see them. I subtly nudged Sam's scattered undies and robe toward her with my foot.
"Later. By the way, what are you doing here?" I asked again.
"Don't you want to see me?" she replied with a smile, her words hinting at something more.
"I stopped by the mansion, but you weren't there, so I thought I'd try it here. Good thing I did." She sounded pleased and started moving closer to me. I quickly moved to meet her because I was terrified she might spot Sam.
"Let's go to my room," I said quickly and winked at her, which seemed to make her happy.
"Oh, finally you're giving in," she said with a broad smile.

I suddenly wanted to get out of there after hearing all that. This Sanders guy really is a womanizer. Just a moment ago, he was all over me, and now, with his original girl here, he's suddenly ignoring me. I wanted to shout out that he's a married man she's trying to seduce. But I had no right to do that, considering I was the one who proposed this arrangement to Knoxx. I was the one who suggested marriage, which he surprisingly agreed to.
I hadn't heard anything from them in a few minutes. They were probably busy in Knoxx's room doing who knows what. Slowly, I crawled out from under the island, then quickly ran to my room. I clutched my chest as I reached inside and locked the door, feeling like I was going to faint from the anxiety.
I couldn't stay still, pacing around the room, wondering what they were doing in Knoxx's room. An hour had passed, and I still didn't have the courage to go outside. Misty might still be in the penthouse. I felt like the mistress hiding away, even though I was the legal wife. My mind spun with thoughts. It was like a stab to the heart, imagining them together. Knoxx was probably releasing the passion with Misty that he didn't get to with me earlier. How would I face Knoxx again?
I didn't even realize I had fallen asleep thinking. I only woke up when my stomach couldn't take the hunger anymore. I peeked outside the room, hoping Misty had left. Knoxx and Misty had probably finished their "business." It was already noon, and I hadn't had breakfast.
Slowly, I crept to the kitchen to get some food. Knoxx's food from earlier was still there, untouched. I grabbed a plate, got some food, and quickly went back to my room. I felt like a thief at what I was doing.
Later that evening, I decided to venture out again. The entire penthouse was silent, and it seemed like I was the only one there. Knoxx and Misty had probably left. Knoxx likely didn't feel comfortable staying under the same roof with Misty and me, so they must have chosen to leave. My mind raced with all the possibilities because of how quickly things had unfolded.
Suddenly, my phone rang. Cindy was calling. "Girl, you have an invitation to attend a charity gala on Saturday. Should I accept it? I heard many famous personalities and businessmen will be there. It's your chance to get benefactors for the foundations you're supporting. Use your charm," she said excitedly, and I didn't hesitate. Cindy was right; it was a big opportunity to gain support for a foundation just starting out in charity work.
"Sure. What's the theme?" I asked.
"I'll send the invitation right away," she replied, immediately sending it over Messenger. The theme of the gala was black and white with a touch of gold. I'd prepare for it; I had three days to get ready. Honestly, I liked being the center of attention at events. I wanted to be the star of the show. Because of that, I got more projects and endorsements. Cindy was also excellent at PR, which was a big advantage.
