Chapter 5

As I sat in math class the following day, it seemed everyone lost interest in the name calling. My classmate, Austin, who was sitting next to me whispered, "Hey Rory, who do you like?" My cheeks flushed.

(Lmao Austin trying to get the answers from you - Asher)

"I'm not telling you Austin." I snapped back.

"Jeez- I just know someone who has a crush on you." Austin rolled his eyes.

"Who? Tell me please please please please." I begged.

"Not saying until you tell me who you like." I looked around and wrote on Austin's notebook, "Asher." He grinned. "Ohh, I knew it. It's so obvious." He laughed.

(Oh shi- Asher)

"W-what. Is it that obvious?"

(WAS IT REALLT THAT OBVI??? - Rory)

"Nah, it just obvious to me. No one else noticed it yet." I sighed with relief. "You guys look cute together-" He paused and closed his notebook super fast.

"Huh?" I saw a hand go over my shoulder tap my iPad. I looked up and saw Asher smiling down at me.

"There's a better move, move the knight. Wait give me your iPad." He said.

I shook my head, "I don't trust you after last time," I laugh. Instead of taking my iPad he took my hand and moved the chess piece, with my hand. I saw Austin grinning beside me and I started to blush.

"There you go, now move the queen," He moved my hand again, "boom, checkmate. There, I helped you win." I smiled.

"T-thanks." I say.

"You suck at chess, of course I had to help you." I rolled my eyes and Asher went back to his seat.

I turned to my right and saw Austin grinning at me, "I told you that you looked cute together." 

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever."

(We are though... -Asher)

"You should ask him out. He probably likes you back." I blushed like hell, and shook my head. "What, why? The worst he can say is no."

(Should've done it- he's right bro -Asher)

"I'm far too scared to." Austin groaned and nudged me.

"Just ask him bro." I stood my ground. But later on, I regretted it. I realized what I had done a year later...

(Damn- we could've been together - Asher) 

Austin sighed and said, "I tried to help, but you're just stubborn. I'm going to let Jenna set you up. She already has a date planned." My face paled. "Shit- I shouldn't have said that. Ow!" Jenna threw an eraser at Austin.

"Nah, Austins making up stuff. He's lying. I'm not setting you up." She lied. I nodded but I knew it was a lie. It was so obvious.

I then got a text:

Asher: Can we play chess?

Aurora: Nah, Mr.Wang posted an assignment. I need to finish it.

Asher: Oh he did? Oh wait I literally already did it by accident last week.

Aurora: Was it easy.

Asher: Oh hail yeah. I mean I'm super smart soooo-

Aurora: Yeah no. You aren't the smartest person ever. 

Asher: I'm smarter than Einstein himself.

Aurora: come up with a theory then prove it.

Asher: I'm the smartest and I had the second highest grades in 5th.

Aurora: Exactly. SECOND highest. Katie had higher grades. So no. Your theory is wrong.

Asher: ugh. Stop being smart.

Aurora: No.

Austin was trying to a peek at my iPad and I poked him with my pencil, "Quit it."

"Fine." He groaned.
