The next day, Ash and his companions left Littleroot Town at the crack of dawn. After the chaos of the previous night and the intense events they'd all experienced, none of them were eager to linger in town. With the sun rising over the horizon, they packed up their things at the Pokémon Center and set off, heading towards Petalburg City once again.

After a full day of walking, the sun began to set, casting long shadows over the path as they made their way through the forest. The trio—Ash, May, and Ashly—decided to make camp in the woods for the night. Just like before, Ash quickly got to work setting up the tents and preparing dinner for everyone. However, there were two notable differences from the last time they camped.

The first difference was Ash's updated team. He had brought Bayleef and Bulbasaur with him, temporarily sending Wartortle back home. He asked his mother to contact Officer Jenny who was in charge of the Squirtle Squad so that Wartortle could celebrate his evolution with his old friends. The second difference was the new member of his family that he wanted to introduce to everyone else.

Once everything was ready, Ash gathered his Pokémon for their usual evening training session. Standing in front of them, he called for their attention. "Okay, guys!" he announced, clapping his hands to get everyone's focus. His Pokémon turned toward him, eager to hear what he had to say. "I'd like you all to meet Diancie, our new friend and family member, so treat her well."

His Pokémon roared or chirped in agreement, each one approaching Diancie and offering a warm greeting. Diancie, though still a little shy, greeted them back politely.

With the introductions between his Pokémon and Diancie complete, Ash called Ashly over. "Ashly, come here," he said, motioning to her. As she approached, he gestured toward Diancie. "Diancie, this is Ashly, my younger sister. And Ashly, this is Diancie, our newest family member."

"Hello, Diancie! Nice to meet you," Ashly greeted the Diamond Pokémon with a bright smile.

"Diancie..." Diancie responded softly, bowing her head shyly.

After their introduction, Ashly turned to her brother, curiosity clear in her eyes. "When did you catch her, brother?"

"Recently," Ash replied, flashing her a knowing look. It was one of those familiar glances that meant either, 'I'll tell you later,' or 'This isn't something to talk about right now.' Ashly understood the message and didn't press further.

May too noticed that look and gulped down the similar question she was going to ask after greeting Diancie. She understood that if Ashly didn't get any answers from Ash, there was no way for her, who had only met him a couple of days ago, to get any at all.

With the greetings out of the way, Ash handed Diancie to Ashly, entrusting his little sister to keep Diancie entertained while he focused on his training session with the others. Once that was settled, Ash turned to his Pokémon, ready to resume their training. "Alright, everyone," he said, "continue practicing what we worked on last time. Bayleef, Bulbasaur, and Ralts—you three, stay with me."

"Okay, Bayleef, to begin with, we're going to start by teaching you a bunch of Grass-Type moves," Ash said, stroking Bayleef's head. She leaned into his touch with a happy expression on her face. Internally, he sighed, knowing he had a lot of work to do on her. After checking her stats, Ash realized that for a pure Grass-Type Pokémon, his Bayleef only knew two grass-type moves: Razor Leaf and Vine Whip. That couldn't be considered good for a second-stage evolution like Bayleef. That's why, to expand Bayleef's arsenal, he had brought over his grass-type friend.

"Bulbasaur," Ash squatted down to meet his little friend's eyes. "I want you to help Bayleef to learn more grass-type moves. Will you help me with that?" he asked. Bulbasaur nodded his head. "Thank you, so please teach Bayleef all the grass-type moves you know. And while Bayleef is practicing her new moves, we're going to work on a new move for you," he said, and Bulbasaur's eyes lit up.
