||2|| - Kings cross
—————————————————————————
We walk into kings cross with the boys plotting what pranks they should play on Snape this year. I glance over to the see James holding a piece of ink stained paper with a few ideas of how to ruin Snape's year. "What in the bloody hell is that?"
"Don't worry about it bear, you won't be involved" Sirius says smirking at me.
I narrow my eyes at the nickname, "I don't care if i'm involved or not. It's not nice."
"Well he's not very nice to us either. I don't know why you care so much anyways," James says putting the paper back in his pocket. "I remember when you used to be a part of the pranks, what happened?"
"I guess i've matured a little more than you have, plus i'd rather put my energy into my studies for our last couple years."
"Or party's" Sirius says holding back a laugh. I roll my eyes and hit him on the back of his head.
"Don't act like you both don't rely on my homework and essays to pass half of your classes."
James snickers, not even bothering to deny it. "Yeah, yeah. You're the brains, we're the charm. Works out pretty well, doesn't it?"
Sirius grins wider, rubbing the back of his head where I hit him, but clearly unbothered. "You know you love us, even if we are a little immature."
As we weave our way through the bustling crowd at King's Cross, the familiar chatter of families sending off their children to Hogwarts fills the air. The boys continue bickering about their grand plans for the year ahead, but I zone out slightly, letting the sound of clattering trolleys and the excited hum of first-years wash over me.
We approach the barrier between platforms 9 and 10, and I feel that familiar mix of excitement and nostalgia bubbling up inside me. Six years ago, this had all seemed so new, but now, walking through the hidden entrance to Platform 9¾ felt like returning to a second home.
With that, we push through the barrier and emerge onto Platform 9¾. The scarlet Hogwarts Express is waiting, as grand as ever, with steam billowing around the station. Students hurry around, loading their trunks and hugging their families goodbye. The familiar whistle pierces the air, and my heart skips a beat.
"Oi! Over here!" Remus's voice calls out from near the train. He's already standing by one of the train entrances, waving us over with a smile.
Sirius and James exchange a look, then immediately race toward Remus, their competitive spirits kicking in, leaving me to roll my eyes again. Typical.
Me and mum follow behind, weaving through the sea of students and parents. Remus greets me with a warm smile as I reach them. "How were your last few days of freedom?"
I smile back. "Not too bad, though I'm already playing referee between these two," I say, nodding toward Sirius and James, who are now playfully shoving each other for the best seat.
"Some things never change," Remus says, shaking his head fondly.
After i few minutes we get onto the train. We all say goodbye to mum, Sirius making sure to take a minute to thank her for her hospitality.
We settle into the compartment, the train beginning to fill with students. As the door slides shut and the Hogwarts Express lets out another whistle, I lean back in my seat, waving to mum and watching the platform start to fade from view.
I stare out the window, I don't even know how long it's been. The sound of the compartment door opening snaps me out of it, I turn my head to see Peter standing in the doorway. "Hey guys, i've been looking for you lot."
