Days passed, and Ishan found himself looking forward to his conversations with Shubman. They would meet at the pond, discussing everything from poetry to cricket.
One afternoon, Shubman invited Ishan to watch his cricket practice.
"Hey, want to see me in action?" Shubman asked, grinning.
"Love to," Ishan replied, smiling.
As they walked to the cricket field, Shubman's teammates nodded in greeting.
"Guys, this is Ishan," Shubman said. "My new friend."
Ishan smiled, feeling a sense of acceptance.
"Hey, nice to meet you all," Ishan said.
During practice, Ishan cheered Shubman on, marveling at his skill.
Afterward, Shubman approached Ishan, beaming.
"Thanks for coming," Shubman said. "You're my lucky charm."
Ishan chuckled.
"Anytime," Ishan replied. "You're incredible out there."
Shubman's eyes sparkled.
"Thanks, man," he said. "You're pretty cool yourself."
Their conversation flowed effortlessly, strengthening their bond.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Ishan realized he hadn't felt this happy in months.
Shubman walked Ishan to his dorm.
"I'm really glad we met," Shubman said.
Ishan smiled.
"Me too," he replied.
Their eyes met, and Ishan felt a flutter in his chest.
He quickly looked away, unsure what to make of the feeling.
"Hey, Ishan?" Shubman said.
"Yeah?" Ishan replied.
"Want to grab coffee with me tomorrow?" Shubman asked.
Ishan's heart skipped a beat.
"Love to," Ishan said.
