Alexandro Ravaevsky, after leaving the secret room, sat in the Lykói house's hall with his group of friends. He remained silent, paying no attention to their lively conversation, still wondering if it had been a good idea to reveal his secret and Calix's.

"Chantelle, it's today! I'm so excited, it's the day of the gathering with the sacred book of the three Fates," exclaimed his closest friend, Louise, smiling from ear to ear. "The day of the gathering! Do you know what that means?"

"Of course, I know, Louise," said Chantelle, laughing. "There's a chance someone could walk away with a soul companion today. Though it could also reveal something else entirely, like a war or something destined to happen."

Alexandro, who had started a conversation with Aaron on another topic, overheard what the two were saying and caught the drift of the conversation. Raising an eyebrow, he asked, confused:

"Is it today? I didn't remember."

"You've got to be kidding me, Alexandro! It's all anyone's been talking about," Louise looked at her friend in disbelief, unable to hide her excitement and anxiety. "The book has been moving inside the crystal cube for a week now. That's never happened before. It's going to make history."

"Louise, don't you think you're exaggerating a bit?" asked Aaron, rolling his eyes. It was clear he downplayed her enthusiasm.

Louise shook her head vehemently in protest.

"No, I'm not. Boys, any of us can find a companion anywhere. But when the book shows a soul union, it's not just any union. It's something more important. Something that can mark or change history," Louise said, looking from Aaron to Alexandro. "How can you downplay something like that?"

"It might not be about revealing soul companions; it could be about predicting something that might happen or showing something from the past that shaped history," Chantelle chimed in. She understood her friend's curiosity. Louise always wanted to know everything about the history of their race and the supernatural world, so she got her enthusiasm. "Don't get too excited, or you might end up disappointed."

"Besides, you have to understand not all of us place the same importance on such matters. Yes, it's nice to find a companion, but it's not something I'm constantly searching for. Right now, I've got other things to worry about than finding a companion, right?" Alexandro shrugged, observing his friends as they watched him.

"I agree," Aaron said. "If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it will. At least only we have soul companions. Just imagine if the miktós had companions. It would be a disaster. They're the worst race that exists. They can't even stay faithful to one another, let alone imagine if they had soul companions."

Sitting beside him, Alexandro tensed. Although he shared the same disdain for all members of the miktós house, he knew how sensitive this topic was for them. No matter how much they longed for a companion, they could never have one due to the curse the three Fates cast upon them. It hadn't escaped his notice how much it tormented them to watch others find their ideal match while they would never have that chance.

"Come on, Alexandro, you have to agree with me," Aaron continued with a sly grin when he saw his friend clench his teeth. "It was someone from the Miktós house who destroyed your family, even though we don't know who or how. But it was them! In fact, I think the curse the three Fates cast on them is more than fair. They caused the war that wiped out the gods. They don't deserve soul companions, not before, not now, not in the future."

"Aaron, that's enough!" Louise exclaimed angrily.

"No, Louise. I'm just giving my opinion and stating what's true and obvious."
