I watched the streets lazily as I walked to work; Will was behind me, as always, scanning the area for threats.
"I wanted the cinnamon buns for breakfast," I said then, making him glance down at me. "You made me eggs... again."
"I apologize for my rudeness," he said then, smiling still, "but you need the protein, my lady."
"Why do you call me that?" I demanded.
"I am being a gentleman," was his response.
"Ha," I said then, glaring over at him, "a demon being a gentleman? You are utterly hilarious."
His lashes lowered over his red eyes. "My, my. Stereotyping me, are we?"
"I can say what I want," I said then, staring back forward. "Freedom of speech."
He just stared at me before he caught my arm.
I turned back toward him to shoot him a look, but his gaze was focused on a bush in the distance.
His smile widened, and I watched his eyes glow a familiar red. "It looks as if we're being watched, my lady."
"When is that ever new," I said then, rolling my eyes.
He just stepped over to the bush and smirked, tearing his hand through the leaves before he tugged them back out.
I glanced over to find—yet another—man, fighting his grip. "What is it this time?" I said then.
Will scanned the form while he was being fought. Before he smiled. "Oh, my. I'm so happy it's you." He tipped his head to the side. "Underling of number one. Now I can get information out of you. Isn't that pleasant?"
"Will," I complained, "I'm going to be late for work."
"Just humor me," he said then. "Your boss is very understanding."
That boss being him.
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever."
The stalker wacked Will across the face, but Will didn't move a muscle.
"That's very rude," Will said then, "and in front of the lady, nonetheless."
He just growled under his breath, shoving his hands against Will's chest. "What's wrong with you?! Set me DOWN!"
"Now, my good sir," Will said as the man punched him across the face again, but he just smiled, "if you keep fighting, I'll snap that long neck of yours. I love the sound. It's very satisfying."
He froze then, staring at Will in the eyes.
"Yeah..." Will said in a dark tone, "doesn't sound pleasant, does it? And judging by that look in your eyes... it tells me that you know I'm fully capable of it, too."
He just breathed shakily, and Will set him down, lightly wrapping his arm around his waist to keep him from running.
"Let's get this over with," I said then, stepping forward. "What's your name?"
The stalker scoffed. "Why should I tell you, little girl?"
"Oh, look at these hands," Will said then, catching the guy's wrist. "They're so calloused. You must be a hard worker, huh?" He just smiled. "Do you use all your fingers for your job?"
He glanced back at Will worriedly. "Uh... yes."
Will just caught his index finger and shoved it backward.
A loud snap echoed through the walkway, and the stalker screamed in pure agony.
"Five little piggies turn to four. One little piggie down," Will said then, smiling darkly. "Answer the questions to save the rest."
He breathed shakily, small whimpers exhaling through his lips. "My name is Vincent... Vincent Dowery."
"Who do you work for?" I asked him then, crossing my arms over my chest.
"I can't tell you that," he whispered, gasping as the pain consume him. "They'll kill me. Please. Please, have mercy."
Will caught his thumb and shoved it backward, sending another loud crack! through the air.
He screamed again, arching his back as his fingers darkened to purple.
"Three little piggies left," Will said then.
"I work for the mafia boss! Claudia! She's our boss!"
"Claudia?" I echoed then. "Odd, but whatever. Are you in connection with the others who are after me? The gangs and whatever."
He squeezed his lips shut, closing his eyes. "It hurts."
Will caught his middle finger, starting to bend it backward.
"AH!" he said then. "OKAY! OKAY!"
He then released the man's finger.
"All of the men after you are interconnected with Claudia," he whispered shakily. "She controls all of us."
"I see," Will said then, smiling as his eyes glowed a slight red, "so all leaders listed on your paper," he told me, "one through nine... they're all related to number one. As I thought."
I just gazed up at him, lashes lowering in annoyance.
He then gazed down at the man. "Thank you for your kindness, my good sir. Your presence is no longer needed."
"Wait," the man said when Will caught his head, "wait! WAIT!"
But Will jerked it to the side, sending a loud CRACK! through the streets.
The body then dropped to the ground, deceased.
Will snapped his fingers again, and the body suddenly caught fire.
I gazed up when it depleted to nothing, and when the fire vanished, Will just gazed up at me.
"So," he said then, "off to work, then?"
I just turned away, starting to walk, and he followed behind me.
"Amazing job with the questions, my Angel," he said then, smirking. "You took the words out of my mouth. Every single one of them."
"Don't sound so pleased," I said then, "they were basic questions. I'm not an idiot."
"You are right," he said then, smirking, "you are not. Far from it. Very far, indeed."
