Without an abrupt end to their argument, Meerab fled to her Gul for a crumb of what felt like familiarity, out into the fields.

As the aircraft lowered leisurely, Meerab stood squinting with vicious gusts of air chopping around her and tugging her backwards. Yasmin bounced inside the vessel before she pulled the head set off and caught sight of her pupho. Then the door flung open dramatically, and stairs slid out.

She glanced over to see a pilot playing around with controls that failed to notice her and then, Yasmin took all her attention... An overwhelming hit of emotions made a lump lodge in Meerab throat, finally reunited as Yasmin strutted out the shabby stairs without a care, bringing the light out with her. ''Yasmin!'' Meerab fawned, rushing to the base of the stairs. Bhabi was behind her, the head seat handed over before collecting her bag to leave.

Meerab beamed, on the surface level seeming excited, when dread and a new sense of uncertainty made her dizzy.

''Phupo, the view was so cool! We were so high up!'' Yasmin cheered, wide eyes with sheer amazement. She cruised down the steps, her curls errant and bouncy, before flinging herself into Meerab's arm.

The girl was caught and Meerab squeezed her crazy tight, the embrace cathartic.

''Surprise!'' Gul declared in a giddy cheer, stepping down to see her sister-in-law in the throes of surprise, an elegant and timeless buttery white kameez swung past her knees on each step.

''How? Why?'' Meerab's heart swelled, overwhelmed with relief. ''I don't care, I'm just so glad you're here!'' Meerab wiped the corner of her eye and unwound. ''Aur mujhe kaha tha ke nahi au gye?'' Her voice quivered with relief. (And you said to me that you're not coming?)

''Your husband is very convincing, Meerab! I couldn't turn down a helicopter arrival,'' Gul explained cheerily, wide awake despite the late hour as she wrapped her arms around Meerab.

Murtasim.

''That was a cool arrival.'' Meerab's shaky arms reached around her bhabi, closing her eyes to find rest on her shoulder. But painted on the back of her eyelids, Meerab saw Murtasim.

''You're glowing,'' Gul crooned, smoothing Meerab's windswept hair, the aftermath of waiting for the helicopter to settle so upclose.

Staff gathered around to take her luggage inside and Yasmin looked up, still wanderstruck. ''Bodyguard pupha kahan hai? Thank you kehna hai maine.'' (Where is Mr.bodyguard. I need to thank him.)

Murtasim had done something unthinkable; it left Meerab so unsettled that even the mention of 'Bodyguard Phupa' didn't make her smile. ''It's so late. You should be sleep,'' Meerab criticised cheekily.

''Shaadi hai aapki. Main party karne aayi hun!'' Yasmin explained. (It's your wedding, i've come to party!)

Both Meerab and Gul chucked at her response, charged up and buzzing.
