* Auras POV *

It's a couple of hours later and I am turned on my side in bed crying silently. I can hear him coming up the stairs so I pretend to be asleep. I can't handle anymore tonight, I need to be strong.

I feel him climb in beside me and he almost instantly falls asleep. The deep snoring is a dead give away. The time is 12:04am, only a few hours to go I thought to myself.

3.00am - I have been clock watching since earlier.

It's time.

I slowly climb out, creeping out of the bedroom making sure I don't wake the monster next to me. I creep down the stairs and quickly retrieve my prepared bag I had hidden for months now. It has all my essentials, passport, cash, flight information, US paperwork, toothbrush, toothpaste and a change of clothes.

I opened the front door and said a silent final goodbye to my house. I closed the door so quietly I wasn't even sure I closed it but I knew it was shut.

I already prepaid for an Uber so the car was waiting for me around the corner. I jumped in, buckled my seat belt and we started driving away. I looked back towards the house incase he saw me but the house looked quiet, almost peaceful. My driver and I headed towards the airport.

"Checking no bags in today Miss?" The checkin lady on the desk said.

"No, thank you." I said shyly trying not to draw any attention to myself.

She checked all my information, handed me my boarding pass and I headed towards security. I wore my baseball cap low and got through everything just fine before heading to my gate.

Gate 26 - "Flight 226, non stop to New York JFK is now boarding. Please have your passport and boarding pass ready for inspection. Thank you" an older ground assistant spoke over the speaker.

I jumped up and joined the queue. I got on the plane, sat down in my seat and buckled my seat belt. I let out a huge sigh. It was the first time in 6 months I felt safe. I touched my now extremely bruised and bloody bite on my chest. A single tear drop left my eye.

I'm finally leaving this terrible life behind and starting a brand new one...
