Nichelle POV

"Zachary" I chuckled at first. He had to had been joking.

When I saw his face didn't change, I sobered up.

"Zachary" I said more seriously

"Just hear me out Nichelle" I simply blink my eyes bored at him. Unfazed because he couldn't be serious. Or was he?

"I'm not gone do you like them other niggas" he tried to convince me but he was failing miserably.

"You know that's what my ex said right? And he cheated on me with more than one girl" I said trying to remind him. He was right there! He witnessed it!
He recollected his thoughts.

"Well.. I ain't him. You know me!"

"Exactly! You're my best friend and you're a manwhore" I playfully pouted.

"You right, I am a man but one thing you should know Nichelle when a man knows what he wants he'll do everything to get it"

"And what is it that you want?"

"I want you to be my girl" I shook my head. Why was this boy playing games at 12:31 PM on a Monday.

"Zach, what about Bianca and that other girl you was with?"

"Who?" He fake pretend to not know.
"You see?!"

"Forget them. Girl stop playing I want you to be my girl. Give me a chance" he pleaded.

I stared at him with a smile and a whole lotta disbelief. He couldn't be serious. We been best friends 4 years now and he pulling this card on me.

"You're my only male best friend, what happens if this goes south? I'll lose a boyfriend and a best friend" I argued.

"What if it does work out? You'll have a husband and you keep your best friend" a husband?!
This man couldn't be serious. I couldn't help but laugh. A husband?!
oh he was cocky.

We were in the school courtyard and here he was trying to convince me that we could be a great couple.

"Okay, well what if I don't feel the same way?"

"You probably don't because you've only seen me as yo nigga and not as your Luther VanDross"

"My Luther VanDross?" Lord help me 😭 he was about to take my heart right out. I started laughing.

"Come on man, you took a chance on ole dude after I done told you he wasn't no good" he said reminding me. He sure did and I thought he knew nothing. Boy oh boy was I wrong. He stayed with me all those nights I cried tho.

I knew I had some feelings for him but I never let it on. The idea of dating my best friend didn't even sound good to me. Because God forbid something happens.. this might be the worst heart break i would ever experience.

"What you say ma?"

"I'm giving you 2 weeks to woo me"
He smirked.
