Think it throughWhat it means to you
And everything you do
Don't affect just you, oh
I can't help but feel like I don't give a fuck
Might just take this shit and blow it up
It's no wonder I feel stuck
Fuck what set you bang,
What hood you claim
We all come from the same
And I don't know if it'll change

The warm afternoon sun streamed through the dorm room window, casting a golden glow across the space. Paige lay beside Azzi, her heart still light from the peaceful hours they had spent together. After their morning of intimacy, they had fallen into an easy rhythm-watching TikToks, checking Instagram, and getting lost in a few episodes of Grey's Anatomy.
The rest of the world seemed to fade as they spent the day wrapped up in each other, sharing lazy laughter and inside jokes. Azzi had spent most of the time resting beside Paige, her arm casually draped over her waist as they scrolled through their phones, commenting on random TikToks or posts from teammates.
For a few hours, everything felt perfectly normal-like it was just the two of them in the world, enjoying each other's presence without a care. They hadn't thought much about anything beyond their little bubble, just enjoying the quiet peace between them.
But then, the quiet was broken by a creak—a door opening. Paige blinked, her senses sharpening as she realized the sound was coming from down the hall. Jana's room.
A few seconds later, the sound of light footsteps followed, then the unmistakable click of the front door as it shut behind her.
Paige froze. Her eyes shot to Azzi's, and from the look on her face, she knew Azzi had heard it too. The realization hit them both at the same time: Jana had been there. All morning.
For a moment, neither of them moved.
Paige's mind raced as she tried to piece together the last few hours. They hadn't thought twice about what they had done earlier—the way they had whispered to each other, the soft touches they had shared-but now, the thought of Jana being there, in her room, while they had... It sent a rush of heat to her face.Azzi blinked, her face a mix of confusion and sudden understanding. "You think she... heard us?"
Paige's stomach dropped. She hadn't even considered it. Her mind had been too hazy, too wrapped up in Azzi to worry about anything else. They hadn't been loud—at least not deliberately—but now that she thought about it, there had been moments. Little things—like soft gasps or quiet, accidental moans-had slipped out between them, moments when they hadn't been able to fully contain their responses to each other.
"Oh no," Paige whispered, her eyes widening as the realization truly sank in. "We definitely weren't that quiet."
Azzi bit her lip, trying not to laugh, but the amusement in her eyes was impossible to ignore. "Yeah, there were definitely some... moments."Paige groaned, covering her face with her hands. "How did I not realize she was still here?"
Azzi shrugged, her lips twitching with barely-contained laughter. "We were kind of... distracted," she teased, her voice low.
Paige peeked out from behind her hands, shaking her head in disbelief. "Oh my Gosh. She was here the whole time." The thought was both mortifying and hilarious.
A grin spread across Azzi's face, and she let out a soft laugh, shaking her head. "She must've been so uncomfortable."
Paige pressed her hand to her mouth, trying not to laugh too loudly, but the absurdity of it was impossible to ignore. They had been so wrapped up in each other, in their little world, that they hadn't even realized Jana was there. Worse, they hadn't considered the small, accidental noises they'd made-ones that, at the time, had felt so natural, so insignificant. But now, knowing Jana had been right down the hall, those moments suddenly felt a lot louder in her memory.
"She's never going to be able to look at us the same way again," Paige whispered, her voice trembling with suppressed laughter.
Azzi snorted, shaking her head.
"She's probably pretending it didn't happen and hoping we do the same."Paige let out a soft laugh, the embarrassment giving way to humor as she imagined Jana awkwardly going about her day, silently wishing she hadn't overheard anything. The thought of her silently staying in her room while Paige and Azzi had been caught up in each other made her heart race with a mix of hilarity and embarrassment.
They exchanged a look, and then, without warning, the laughter bubbled up again. Paige's chest shook with silent giggles, and Azzi joined in, the two of them lost in the ridiculousness of it all. The realization that Jana had probably heard them—and that they hadn't even thought about it until now—was just too much.
"We weren't even that loud," Azzi said through her laughter, her eyes twinkling. "But those little... slip-ups."
Paige laughed harder, her face flushed from both laughter and embarrassment. "Yeah, those were... definitely loud enough for her to hear."
Azzi's body shook with giggles, and she rested her forehead against Paige's shoulder. "Oh Gosh, she's never going to look us in the eye again."
Paige nodded, still laughing, her sides aching from the effort to hold back the sound. "We'll have to apologize later," she managed to say, though the idea of that conversation only made them laugh harder.
Eventually, their laughter died down, and the dorm room fell into a comfortable quiet again. Paige's heart still raced from the mix of embarrassment and amusement, but as she glanced at Azzi, the humor in the moment softened. Azzi was looking at her with that familiar warmth in her eyes, the kind that made Paige feel like everything else in the world had disappeared.
Azzi smiled, her laughter fading into a soft, affectionate grin. "You're staring again."
Paige felt her heart swell as she reached out, brushing a loose strand of hair from Azzi's face. "Can't help it," she murmured, her voice soft. "You're beautiful."
Azzi's eyes softened, and for a moment, they simply looked at each other, the amusement fading into something deeper. The connection between them was undeniable, and as Paige looked into Azzi's eyes, she felt that familiar warmth spread through her chest, grounding her in the moment.
Azzi shifted closer, her hand slipping into Paige's, their fingers intertwining as they shared the quiet between them. It wasn't just about what had happened earlier or the laughter that had followed—it was the way they were together now, the bond that had been building between them for so long.
Paige smiled, leaning in to press a soft kiss to Azzi's lips. The kiss was gentle, full of the affection they had been carrying all day. When they pulled apart, Paige let out a contented sigh, her forehead resting against Azzi's as they lav there, wrapped up in each other.
"You think maybe she was asleep?"
Azzi whispered, her voice playful but hopeful.Paige laughed softly, resting her head against Azzi's shoulder. "Maybe," she agreed, though she knew it was unlikely. "Let's just pretend she was."
Azzi chuckled, nodding. "Yeah. That sounds better."
For now, they stayed tangled in each other, their hands intertwined, the warmth betweehn them filling the room. Whatever came next-awkward conversations or the challenges ahead—they would face it together.
And for now, that was all they needed.
