Chapter 3, Destiney of Ferlandres

It would be days after the sinking of that wandering pirate ship and the capture of Alexzander when the crew of the Navy vessel would arrive at port ferlandres, as Alexzander and the rest of the Pirates were chained up and ready to be hauled to shore Cadmus made his way to Alexzander putting a hand on his shoulder and getting close to him "You will follow me and only me if you value your testicles, do you understand me Pirate?" Cadmus whispered in which Alexzander didn't respond "Hey, didn't you hear me pirate?" Cadmus repeated only for Alexzander to look towards him briefly "Its Alexzander, not pirate" Alexzander said as him and Cadmus made eye contact. Cadmus then kicked Alexzander down the boardwalk off the ship causing him to fall against the hard wood floor "You had better watch your tongue, you have any idea where you are? This port ferlandres, this is where pirates are brought to die and this is where I'll be burying you" Cadmus said as he walked down the boardwalk and picked up Alexzander pushing him forward while some of the navy men escorted them away. As the Pirates made their way through the port some began to sulk and pray while others acted out and ran their mouths like animals cursing and screaming. Alexzander just simply walked along the path while staring at the ocean, watching the waves crash against the docks of port royal a drowning out the rest of the noise of the port behind him, Cadmus continued to walk along with the chained pirates with some other navy men with him. As they traveled towards the Gallows the pirates got glimpses of the different levels of the city of ferlandrss, the pirates walked along the dirt and gravel like roads of the port only to then pass through a gate leading to the main sight of the city, large buildings and great fields that extended for miles and miles long with luscious greenery all over.

Some pirates scoffed and even spit in disgust of the place, but Alexzander was mesmerized and shocked at all of what he was seeing, the streets were filled with people and children alike, there was music in the air and the sun shined on this place like a beacon. Alexzander then began to see it though, people of all kinds looking at him and sneering at his very sight, pirates weren't a familiarity here, meaning him these guys were perhaps a special case of some sort. It wouldn't be long before people began to boo and howl at them and even began to pelt them with stones and tomatoes, anything they could get their hands on really. Unfortunately one of the people threw a rock hitting one of the pirates along the head killing him, the navy men then picked up his corpse and began to hull it themselves "These guys really want us to go to wherever it is they're taking us" Alexzander said as he nearly dodged a rock coming his way, but couldn't foresee the tomatoes and other vegetables that would hit him along the head. As they traveled closer to another gate leading to the next level of the city some women rushed towards them and dosed them in cold water along with throwing more vegetation at them "Alright enough with you" shouted one of the navy men as they pushed the women away "I can't wait to smell your corpses rotting at the gallows!" shouted one of the women as they ran off. Cadmus then looked down towards Alexzander who was little fazed by what had or what was to come "The people of this city, are they usually like this?" Alexzander asked as he looked to Cadmus who just seemed shocked at his question "...No, no not really. We don't bring pirates here too often, but our orders are clear and we figured the people may like a good show" Cadmus said as he then looked to the necklace along with Alexzander although he tried to hide his glare of it. They continued their journey up near to the top of the city, but soon they came to a crossroad, one side leading to where all the rich and wealthy resided and the other to the gallows which with no mistake was where they were going, the navy men continued to lead the pirates towards the gallows with Cadmus and the commander staying behind, as they made their way the pirates all began to get shaky and even pleaded a few times with the navy men who were dragging them along. Alexzander looked back at Cadmus and the commander as he continued to walk to the gallows with the navy men "do you have some sort of history with that man Cadmus? You've been giving him a lot of your attention" Dennium said as he stared at Cadmus, the sun of the day began to fall low, the setting of the sun taking place right above the main palace of the city of ferlandres "Not at all, its just, I didn't quite liked how he was addressing me before, such trash" Cadmus said with hints of anger as he gripped the amulet "don't let him die...must find her...so close...so close...2 years" whispered the amulet as he then stared at the air "did you say something?" Dennium asked only for Cadmus to shake his head "...if you really have an affiliation with that pirate then I could orchestrate something so the two of you can get some time, but he must be hung by midnight, the people of Ferlandress are dying for a show this late time of fall" Dennium said as he fixed his suit "I appreciate your kindness once again sir, I am not worthy of such things" Cadmus said with a calm tone "Yes, you aren't, but after you showed some spine and even expressed your admiration towards the order, I might as well grant you at least one request" Dennium said as he then began to make his way to the gallows leaving Cadmus there in the street lights of ferlandres as night soon began to fall upon him "Whatever voodoo nonsense this is, I will get answers, this could be the key towards my promotion in the rankings, the evidence of true mystical relics could be a big step for the navy" Cadmus exclaimed with great admiration as he then look down the road towards the rest of the city of ferlandres as the lights of the inns and houses lit up everything and the slight sound of music could be heard, but as he turned towards the more wealthier side he heard nothing, not a sound or even a chirp all he could see were the cold and empty buildings that held no light inside of them.

Alexzander was soon at the gallows, he saw all means of public execution, but the one that struck him the most was the large cliff at the very end of it all and it was in perfect view of the people of ferlandres, perhaps this is what they mean. Alexzander looked down towards the city from the large cliff side and then looked down to see the rocky bottom where the sea crashes with the rocks of the cliff "Feels like im at the world's edge" Alexzander said to himself, he could feel his legs shake a bit from the sight, as he backed away form the cliff he felt a hand land on his shoulder. He turned to see Cadmus "We need to talk, don't worry, you'll still die, but not at this moment" Cadmus said as he then tightened his grip and began to move Alexzander near towards a small little shed, as they made their way there Cadmus turned back to see the navy men begin to line up the pirates at the cliffs edge. Once Cadmus and Alexzander entered the shed Cadmus got the amulet from under his suite and showed it to Alexzander " What is this?" Cadmus asked " I don't know" Alexzander responded only to be smacked across the face by Cadmus " Don't you are lie to me! What is it!" Cadmus shouted as he pulled Alexzander close to him "Is this the devil's doing? Witchcraft? Answer me or I'll destroy it and then have you thrown over the side with it!" Cadmus shouted again only for Alexzander to headbutt him knocking him back, Alexzander then grabbed the amulet out his hand "You are a conniving little rat! I knew I should have let you been killed! But by my better judgment I thought you spared, perhaps you could have given me answers to what was behind that amulet, but instead I'll just have to trust that it was all just the flashes of the dead perhaps, the sea can do wonders to the mind" Cadmus said as he unsheathed his blade from his belt, Alexzander looked at Cadmus with determination "I don't know what's going on with this amulet or why I even still live, perhaps it is the work of the devil himself, but even so I will find out what happened in that dark place and why this amulet is all that there was of my previous crewmates" Alexzander said as he gripped the amulet in his chained hands "Then perhaps its time for you to die along with them!" Cadmus said as he charged Alexzander slicing away trying to kill the pirate in front of him, Alexzander dodging and move behind objects trying to block the oncoming attacks from Cadmus's blade. Alexzander knew he had to get free of his bonds, but didn't know how, he then ran towards the back of the shed with Cadmus slowly behind him, Alexzander then turned on his kicking Cadmus in the gut making the navy man cough up some blood. Cadmus then however dug his blade into Alexzander's leg going straight through it. Alexzander let out a loud grunt, he then looked next to him seeing a large broomstick on the ground. With no other option Alexzander grabbed it and smashed it against Cadmus's head sending him tittering back, Alexzander then pulled the sword from out his leg and then rushed over to Cadmus slicing him across the chest, however upon notice he saw Cadmus had blocked it with his arms. Cadmus began to punch Alexzander in the face and then disarm him cutting his hand and his face with his blade "commander Cadmus!!" shouted a voice from outside stopping Alexzander and Cadmus, soon after the two of them heard an explosion from outside shaking the ground "What in the hell?!" Cadmus shouted as he ran to the window outside and could see the light of an explosion outside, Alexzander took this opportunity to sneak out the backdoor of the shed and began to run down the path towards the city.

Cadmus burst out of the shed with his pistol in hand and stared searched around for Alexzander in the darkness only for him not to see him "Cadmus!" Dennium shouted as he approached Cadmus "The city is being hit by pirates! We need to head down there now!" Dennium said with a firm grip as the rest of the navy men followed the command and went towards the city "What happened to you and that pirate? Where is he?" Dennium asked as he got his pistol loaded "...I lost him sir...I'm so sorry, he...he got the better of him and I...I'm deeply sorry" Cadmus said as he sulked against the wall of the shed and looked in his hand only to see it no longer held the amulet form before "I was a fool" Cadmus said with sadness in his voice as he looked out to the city burning and the sound of gun fire "Its alright Cadmus, now we must defend ferlandres from these invaders" Dennium said with a stern tone "...R-Right of course" Cadmus said as he stood up, the ashes of burning buildings beginning to reach him and Dennium.
