Battleground of the hostel

Chapter 7

I think I'm loosing it but I just can't take it anymore, wait for it... I think my roommate is a witch, I'm not saying this out of sheer hate, let me explain myself.
Recently for the past few weeks that has been dragging on forever I couldn't help but notice that she isn't always in her bed when it's going to hit midnight, now you might be wondering how I know that she's not in bed well all thanks to the nyctophobia that I have anytime I wake up and feel like it's getting a bit to dark I switch on the yellow lamp in our room and for three nights I didn't see her sleep in her bed.
So I decided to stay awake til midnight and noticed that she gets out from bed the moment it's eleven, I don't have the liver to confront Tina yet but before I do that I'll make sure that I don't eat anything so that I won't throw up while confronting her, I'm not usually good at confrontation it's Sasha that's the queen of confrontation.
Anyways let's keep that aside another Friday is around the corner which means I get to chat with Dustin. I'm so happy that I can be a ray of sunshine to everyone just like Evelyn, he usually sends me pictures and videos of his workouts and also videos of him playing videogames with his friends or go for a hangout. Sasha has also been there in a lot of those videos and I just know it that if I had stayed in that school my popularity would have boosted overnight .
I jumped out from bed and took a quick look at my clothes and wondered what I should wear.
It took me a while and then I found a strapless green crop top with a short black mini skirt, it was too short for me but the thought of Dustin smiling at me if he got a chance to see me made me go with that outfit throughout the day. Our first class were about to start any moment from now.
I walked down the school hallway the walls painted in blue with the black cupboards and different students talking to each other, on one side you can see the sports guys making stupid jokes and their stench even making them appear less attractive than they were on my left I could see a group of girls squealing over the flavour of their lipgloss. The hallway was crowded with students at the left and right, I would have just dug my head in my books and race for the door but I came to this school to make a statement for the little time I'm staying there, and there I was using the school hallway like a runway with all eyes on me like I'm one of these models at Victoria's secret. I could hear whispers behind me and beside me as I walked down.
" Isn't that the new girl?".
" Yeah and I heard she's seatmates with Evelyn".
" Do you know that Ryan talked to her".
" She must be so lucky".
" I think her name is Ruby ".
Those were the words of students that wanted to be me, I could feel this power around me.
" Yeah and her dress is pretty too". One of those sports guys commented.
Ryan was busy grabbing some of his stuffs from the locker when he noticed me, a look of shock was there on his face but I couldn't grab it cause he later hid his expressions and went to the classroom.
Now my number one job for the day is to find Evelyn.
I couldn't believe who I was walking into while I was looking for Evelyn it was Tina.
I was walking around looking for Evelyn when I ran into her, she sometimes had this gothic style from her diamond choker necklace, to the black shirt and leggings she wore and let's not forget the nose ring she keeps occasionally , I could feel her grey eyes accessing me before she finally laughed at me.
" If you think that you are going to become popular in this school looking like a dress up doll then you are mistaken". I felt this heat rushing up to my cheeks when Tina said that I felt so embarrassed cause I knew that I didn't look good in such clothes but Tina didn't make me feel better about it.
I tried my best not to make eye contact with her while tears filled my eyes and when I finally found my  stamina, I finally met the eyes of the threat of this school.
" I rather look like a dressed up doll than to look like a girl that can never look good in any occasion except for Halloween". I knew that I was so dead for saying that and maybe this night might be my last night but I can't allow her to insult me I'm front of people that I'm working so hard to get their admiration.
I guess I left Tina speechless and some girls couldn't help but to giggle, just as Tina took a step forward towards me, Evelyn found me, she grabbed my arm and walked us into the classroom.
" There you are, I was looking for you". Evelyn said holding my hand and breathing out a sigh of relief as we made our way to our seats and walked past many eyes that were watching us.
I wanted to express my gratitude to Evelyn for saving me from the danger that Tina was going to put me in.
"I..".
" You need to stay away from Tina she's bad news". Evelyn said interrupting me, adjusting her blonde hair which was fixed into a bun.
I just nodded my head and didn't say a word .
" How did Tina notice you?". Evelyn asked sounding so worried .
I knew that I was in a big mess but I couldn't get out of this mess unless I beg the principal to change my roommate.
" She's my roommate". I said clenching my fist wishing that I could have a different life, a life with Dustin, a life with Sasha so that I could have as much sleepovers with her as I want to and not a life with a witch as a roommate in which she can take my life at any night she damn pleases.
" What?". Evelyn whispered loudly.
I shifted my gaze to look at any random object and then I noticed Ryan looking at me, he seems to be a little shocked and concerned but I completely ignored him.
" And I think she is the witch ". I whispered back to Evelyn, her blue eyes widened and her mouth opened to say something but she couldn't find any words for a moment it remained quiet between us .
" Are you sure?".
" Yes cause she's nowhere to be seen when it's going to be midnight". I said proving a point.
Evelyn's face went pale and she started taking in deep breaths, I guess she's still trying to process everything.
" We'll talk about this later, okay let's first prepare for class and then we will later go to the dancing theater".
I just smiled and nodded my head in agreement I don't know what's going to happen next but I only know one thing, Tina is the witch.
I later had a good time with Sophie and Fiona at the dancing theater meanwhile the boys Cedar and Carter were busy goofing around and Cassie hasn't opened up to me completely, I guess I could understand the fact that she was close to Evelyn and then I suddenly show up and take her spot so maybe she's still trying to understand the fact if she should attack me or be friendly with me.
Friday came by pretty fast and I was so excited cause I get to video call DUSTIN TREVOR, no matter how many times I scream I couldn't get over the fact that he's my boyfriend,
He finally answered his video call and I immediately flew my hands to into my face to cover my eyes, he was shirtless, I was feeling the heat all over my body when I heard his voice.
" Why are you doing that?". Dustin asked his voice was so relaxed that I almost melted in the chair.
" You are shirtless". I spoke up with my hands still covering my eyes.
" And what's wrong with that sugarplum?". He said in a teasing voice. I couldn't help but blush and I guess he saw it from his own laptop screen.
" I guess I should also cover my eyes cause you look hotter when you blush than when I'm shirtless". I blushed the more at his comment.
" Okay Ruby please remove your hand don't you want to see my face, just pretend as if you are watching one of my workout videos". I agreed to remove his hands and take it all in, his skin was glowing so bright with his bare chest having some hair to compliment his physique, his muscular arms look so perfect, had it been that I was in the same room with him I would have touched his arms for sure but then my eyes caught something that was hanging on his chair... Sasha's headband she normally uses it anytime she's doing her dance practice what is it doing in Dustin's room?
" Is that not Sasha's headband?". I said looking at Dustin and he looked over his shoulders and noticed the headband.
" Yeah she was here earlier with the guys so I guess she forgot it I'll give it back to her ".
In a matter of seconds I saw a feminine hand hugging Dustin from the back and the skin was light brown it was none other than Sasha.
" I forgot my headband ". Sash said smiling at Dustin and Dustin later pointed at the screen of his laptop.
" Oh hey Ruby". Sasha said a bit surprised but her arms were still around Dustin.
" He told me that he was missing you but he didn't tell me that he was going to video call you, I wouldn't have come here".
I later realized what Sasha was wearing she wore a cropped bra top that showed her cleavage with shorts and for a moment I didn't feel comfortable that she was dressed like that in Dustin's room.
" Uhm okay Ruby you seem a bit tired I guess I should leave you alone, goodnight sugarplum". Before I could even respond he cut the video call and left me alone with my thoughts.
Was I jealous? Am I doubting Sasha and Dustin's loyalty? Should I warn Sasha to stay away from Dustin? Or am I overthinking?
