The rain drummed steadily against the barn roof, creating a soothing backdrop as the group settled into a new routine. With the baby goats frolicking around them, the atmosphere felt lighter, despite the weight of their recent discovery. Maya, still riding the high of her transformation, sat on a hay bale, her heart racing with excitement and uncertainty.

"Can you believe it? I actually transformed!" Maya exclaimed, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm.

"It's amazing," Amina said, her eyes sparkling. "What was it like?"

Maya thought for a moment, recalling the warmth and exhilaration she felt during her transformation. "It was like... stepping into a new world. I could feel the instincts of the goat—it was incredible!"

"That's so cool," Leo said, leaning forward. "Do you think we can all do it? I want to try next!"

Cassie watched them with a mix of pride and concern. "Yes, but we have to be cautious. Each of you will need to learn how to control your transformations. It's important to understand that with great power comes great responsibility."

Alex, still buzzing from the earlier excitement, nodded. "So, what's next? Are we going to practice more?"

Cassie smiled. "Absolutely. We'll set up a training schedule. You've all acquired your animals' DNA; now we'll focus on practicing your transformations. You can transform back and forth freely, but there's something very important you need to know."

"What is it?" Amina asked, her interest piqued.

"You only have a two-hour window when you're transformed into an animal," Cassie explained, her tone turning serious. "If you stay in that form longer than two hours, you'll become the animal permanently."

The weight of Cassie's words hung in the air, and the kids exchanged nervous glances.

"Permanently?" Maya echoed, her excitement giving way to apprehension. "That's... terrifying."

Cassie nodded, her expression earnest. "I know it sounds alarming, but it's crucial to remember. You must be aware of the time and learn to manage your transformations carefully."

"Got it," Alex said, his voice steady. "I'll keep an eye on the clock."

Maya felt a mix of determination and fear. "I want to practice. I'm ready!"

"Okay, then let's get started," Cassie said, her tone shifting to one of authority. "Maya, you can begin by transforming into the goat. Think about the last time you transformed and what it felt like. The rest of you, focus on your chosen animals and prepare for your transformations."

The group dispersed, with Maya moving to the pen where the baby goats were playfully nudging each other. As she knelt down, one of the goats approached her, curiously sniffing at her hand.

"Okay, little buddy," Maya whispered, her heart racing. "Let's do this."

With a deep breath, she concentrated on the transformation, visualizing herself becoming the goat. The familiar warmth enveloped her, and she embraced the change, confident in her ability to control it.

"Maya!" Cassie's voice broke through the haze. "What do you feel?"

In an instant, the transformation completed. Maya opened her eyes, exhilarated and empowered. She had done it again!

The group gathered around her, excitement palpable in the air.

"You did it!" Amina exclaimed, her eyes wide.

"Again!" Alex added, his excitement evident. "This is so cool!"

Maya smiled, still catching her breath. I can't believe it! she thought, feeling the connection to her friends.
