The air around Nexus Headquarters was eerily still as the team, now in their mouse morphs, darted across the darkened grounds. The facility loomed ahead, a fortress of steel and glass surrounded by patrolling guards. Cassie led the way, her small body moving quickly but carefully, each step a calculated risk. Behind her, the others—Alex, Maya, Marco, Ethan, Amina, and Leo—followed closely, their small forms blending into the shadows.

Above them, Tobias soared as a Red-Tailed Hawk, scanning the area for any signs of danger. "You're clear so far," his thought-speech echoed in their minds. "But be careful. They've increased security since our last visit. I'll keep watch from above."

Cassie felt the tension in the air as they approached the building. "Everyone stay low and quiet. We need to find a way inside without drawing any attention." Her thought-speech was steady, but the gravity of the mission weighed heavily on her. Jake's presence in the facility was always a looming threat, but now they faced the entire Nexus.

Ahead, they spotted a small ventilation grate along the side of the building, just big enough for their small mouse forms to squeeze through. "That's our way in," Ethan suggested, his whiskers twitching. "If we're lucky, it'll take us right into the heart of the building."

Cassie cautiously approached the vent. "Let's hope so. Everyone, follow me." One by one, they slipped inside, the cool metal of the ventilation shaft echoing their tiny footsteps. The air inside the building was thick, a mixture of sterile cleanliness and something more sinister lingering in the background.

As they crawled deeper into the facility, Cassie's senses were on high alert. "How's everyone doing? Give me a morph-time update."

Leo responded, his voice calm despite the situation. "We've been in morph for about 15 minutes."

Cassie glanced back, relieved. Marco, however, was quick to jump in with a joke. "Fifteen minutes? You guys can keep track? Man, that would've been nice to have back in the day. We'd have less 'almost-getting-stuck' situations."

Ethan let out a squeaky laugh through thought-speech. "Guess technology's not the only thing that's improved!"

Cassie smirked, appreciating the moment of levity, but quickly refocused. "Alright, enough jokes. We're getting close. Stay sharp. We'll find out what's really happening here."

Ahead, a faint light filtered through the slits of another vent. Cassie slowed, signaling the others to follow quietly. Their mission was clear: to uncover the truth behind the Nexus's control over people. And now, more than ever, they needed answers.

The team continued moving through the ventilation shafts, their tiny mouse forms making it easy to pass unnoticed. Cassie led them through the maze of tunnels, their senses heightened by the mission's gravity. Below them, the sounds of machines humming and footsteps echoed throughout the facility.

As they neared a larger room, Cassie slowed and motioned for the others to follow quietly. "Stay close," she thought-spoke. "We need to figure out what they're doing down there."

They peered through the slits in the vent. Below, they saw a group of Nexus agents standing around a large table covered in holographic displays. Cassie squinted, trying to make sense of the projections. It appeared to show the city, with different zones highlighted in red. On the far end of the room stood a tall, stern-looking man giving orders.

"They're talking about the mind control system," Leo thought-spoke, his eyes locked on the holographic display. "They're dividing the city into zones. Looks like they're planning to expand their control."
