The two of them sat quietly in James' room, wondering what they should do. They hadn't hung out in a very long time.
"...So.." he quietly said. "What..do you want to do?"
"Hm.." she pondered, tapping her chin. "Pizza and a movie."
"Like we used to?"
"I suppose."
"I'll make Nate get it."
"Why?"
"Because that little nutbag owes me." he snorted, pulling out his phone.
"Leave Nate alone!"
"Mind you he put you in this mess in the first place."
"..Fair enough. Large, Stuffed Crust Pepperoni please."
"Still?"
"It's good pizza, James, leave me alone." she grumbled.
"You eat half of it in one sitting."
"I do not. I eat the whole thing now."
"Does Duck FEED YOU?"
"No." she laughed. "I am absolutely starving most of the time."
"That's not a good thing!"
Since that argument was going nowhere, the two simply shut up and waited for their food. Well, they would've if they could decide on what movie to watch.
"I'm not watching The Notebook." she hissed. "It's sappy and gross. Let's watch Twister."
"Why? It's an American movie about weather that doesn't even happen here worth a coal lump."
"You do realize The Notebook is American too, right?"
"..Well, I do now, I suppose. But we're not watching Twister."
"Why not!?" she snapped, stamping her foot. "It's a classic! Pleaaaase?"
She looked at him through the puppiest eyes she could muster. As much time as they spent apart, it was her best trick.
"..Fine. On one condition." he grumbled. "I get to have my arm around you."
"...I guess we're watching The Notebook."
James clicked his tongue, annoyed that his little ruse didn't work, but at least they were gonna watch the movie he wanted.
"I can't believe he's making me do this. I got my own life, doesn't he know?" Nate complained to himself.
"You could've just said no." his driver quipped.
"It's not that easy saying 'no' to James, Jerry. He'll find some way into blackmailing me."
"Take a slice then."
"And face the wrath of Maddy? No. Are you insane? I learned not to touch her food."
Nate could only sigh to himself. On one hand, he was taking time out of his day to deliver pizza to a couple of lazy engines, but on the other hand, he knew that they were on some road to recovery. Maybe then she'd stop yammering about Duck. Duck this, Duck that. Blah Blah Blah. Speaking of Duck he wondered if he knew about any of this. Well, Nate knew that she still loved James, but did he know there was a chance she was actively pursuing the mogul? As much as he disliked Duck, Nate didn't think he deserved that.
