The sky was ablaze, a swirling tempest of fire, lightning, and shadow. The battlefield stretched endlessly, an expanse of chaos where gods and titans clashed with a fury that shook the very foundations of the world. Mountains crumbled, seas roared, and the air was thick with the smell of smoke and the sound of thunderous blows. At the heart of it all, Mathena fought beside her sisters, each wielding their powers with desperate resolve.
Mosyne, their mother, loomed above them like a dark, celestial storm, her eyes alight with both creation and destruction. Her power rippled through the heavens, and with every motion, she tore reality itself, casting everything into chaos. She was a force of nature, a being both magnificent and terrible, and her wrath knew no bounds.
"Mathena!" Morgana's voice called through the maelstrom, urgent and fierce. The eldest sister, wielding the elements with unparalleled grace, fought valiantly, but Mathena could see the toll it was taking on her. The fire in her eyes was dimming, and the light that once surrounded her was beginning to flicker.
"Morgana, we have to pull back!" Mathena shouted, her voice strained as she deflected a surge of black lightning. "We can't win this—Mother is too strong!"
Morgana shook her head, her face set with a grim determination. "No, we have no choice. If we fail now, everything will perish." Her hands glowed with power, the elements responding to her call—flames danced, the wind howled, and the earth trembled. "The only way is to seal her... but it will take more than the strength we have."
Mathena's eyes widened as she saw the decision in Morgana's gaze. "No... you can't! We'll find another way. Don't—"
"There isn't time!" Morgana cut her off, pain and love mingling in her voice. "You know what I must do." She reached out, cupping Mathena's face with a trembling hand. "I have to split my core—disperse it across the Earth. It's the only way to stop her and give humanity a chance."
Tears welled in Mathena's eyes as she gripped Morgana's arm. "But if you do this, you'll be gone! You'll—"
"I know." Morgana's voice softened, but the resolve in her eyes did not falter. "But this is what I was meant to do. I am the eldest—I bear this responsibility." She leaned in, resting her forehead against Mathena's. "You must be strong, Mathena. You and our sisters... you must continue the fight."
Mathena's voice broke, her tears mingling with the ash and rain that fell around them. "I can't lose you, Morgana. You're everything—our guide, our strength."
Morgana smiled, a sad, knowing smile. "You won't lose me. My essence will remain, scattered across the Earth. And one day, you will find me. You'll bring me back."
With a final look, Morgana turned away, raising her hands to the sky. The elements surged around her, her power igniting in a brilliant display of light. She called forth her core, and in a blinding flash, it shattered into five glowing fragments, shooting off in every direction like stars falling from the heavens.
As the fragments scattered, a massive explosion erupted, a nova of unimaginable force. Mathena was thrown back, her vision fading as the blast consumed the battlefield. Her last sight was of Morgana, standing tall amidst the chaos, her figure glowing like a beacon of hope.
"Morgana!" Mathena's scream echoed, but it was lost in the roar of the explosion, and then, everything went dark.
