As Josh was deep in a restless sleep when a sudden, deafening explosion jolted him awake. It felt like the world had shattered around him. The sound was a thunderous roar, shaking the very foundation of his home, as if a monster had awakened and was wreaking havoc.
His eyes flew open, heart pounding violently against his chest. The walls around him trembled as if they were alive, and the air was thick with the acrid smell of smoke, stinging his nostrils and filling his lungs with panic.
He was engulfed in a chaotic symphony of sounds: screams echoing through the house, furniture crashing to the floor, and the unmistakable roar of flames consuming everything in their path.
"Moooooommmmmmm! Daaaadddd!"
he screamed, his voice trembling, raw with fear.
The distant cries of his parents pierced through the chaos, mingled with the frantic screams of their neighbors. It was a cacophony of terror that sent shivers down his spine.
Josh's heart dropped as he heard his mother's voice, raw and desperate.
"Josh! Get out! Now!"
He could barely process her words over the roar of the flames and the screams that surrounded him. The glow of the fire seeped through the cracks of his bedroom door, casting a horrifying light that danced along the walls, and he turned to the window, dread pooling in his stomach. Outside, flames illuminated the night, creating an inferno that turned their neighborhood into a hellscape. The heat was suffocating, wrapping around him like a vice.
"What's happening?"
He gasped, struggling to comprehend the nightmare unfolding around him. The floor beneath him shuddered violently, making him stumble. He gripped the doorframe, heart racing as he forced himself to open the door and step into the hall.
The hallway was filled with thick smoke, swirling in dark clouds that choked him with every breath. He could see shadows moving in the haze—familiar figures stumbling, calling out, lost in the chaos.
"Moomm! Daadd!"
He yelled, panic surging through him like electricity. Suddenly, a deafening crack echoed through the house, and he felt the floor lurch beneath him. The walls groaned ominously, as if the house itself were dying. He rushed forward, each step filled with fear, his heart pounding in his ears.
He finally reached the living room, where he saw his mom, face streaked with soot, eyes wide and filled with horror. His dad was beside her, shouting instructions in a voice that trembled with urgency.
"Josh! Get out, now!"
The flames were closing in,and surrounding them and there was no escape from that high flames.
