Vardaan's POV

The soft hum of the hotel room's air conditioning barely broke the silence as Vardaan opened his eyes at 5 AM. The plush bedding and sleek decor served as a reminder of his success, but he didn't let it inflate his ego. He rolled out of bed, feeling the familiar weight of responsibility, but he approached his day with an easy confidence.

After a quick shower, he dressed in his tailored suit, adjusting his tie with practiced ease. He glanced in the mirror, acknowledging the man staring back—a competent CFO who didn't sweat the small stuff.

He headed to the gym, where his assistant, Raj, was already waiting. Raj looked up from his tablet, trying to gauge Vardaan's mood. "Morning, sir. Your schedule is packed today. We have a 9 AM meeting with the investors, a conference call at noon, and—"

"Just send me the details later, Raj," Vardaan replied casually, dismissing the mounting tasks with a wave. He thrived under pressure but preferred to keep things straightforward.

After a solid workout, he returned to his room, freshened up, and ordered a light breakfast of fruit and toast. Just as he was about to dig in, his phone rang. It was his bhabhi.

"Vardaan! Where were you last night?" she scolded, her voice sharp but familiar. "Yuvraj bhai was worried sick, and you know how he gets when you don't come home!"

"Bhabhi, I lost track of time," he said, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips. "I figured I'd let him enjoy some peace for a night."

"Don't even try to explain! You drank too much again, didn't you?"

"Maybe a little," he admitted, unfazed. "But you know I can handle it. I'll make it up to him."

"Make sure you do. Yuvraj bhai is going to have a fit when he finds out," she warned, but he could hear the concern in her voice.

"Got it. Love you both," he said before hanging up, shaking his head with a grin.

With a chuckle, he finished his breakfast and grabbed his briefcase. The drive to the office in his sleek Mercedes-Benz S-Class was smooth, the city waking up around him. He felt grateful for his life and the people who kept him grounded—his bhai and bhabhi, who meant everything to him.

Bhumija's POV

Bhumija's alarm blared, pulling her from a restless sleep. Panic surged through her as she realized she was late. She scrambled out of bed, glancing at the clock—7:45 AM. Her heart raced; if she didn't hurry, her manager would definitely have another reason to scold her.

There was no time for breakfast. After a quick shower, she threw on a short kurti that gave her a sense of comfort and confidence. She grabbed her bag and dashed out the door. The morning rush greeted her with a cacophony of honking cars and bustling pedestrians, but all she could think about was getting to the metro station on time.

As she sprinted down the street, her mind raced with the consequences of being late. She couldn't afford another lecture from her manager. "Focus, Bhumija," she muttered under her breath, trying to calm her nerves.

Reaching the metro station, she squeezed through the crowd, the air thick with the scent of sweat and coffee. As she waited for the train, her heart pounded, not just from the rush but from the weight of her aspirations. Every day felt like a test, and she was desperate to prove herself.

When the train finally arrived, she squeezed in, grateful for the jolt of movement that pushed her forward. She clutched the pole tightly, her mind still racing. Today was crucial; she had a presentation that could determine her future at the firm.

As the train rattled along, she closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. "I can do this," she whispered to herself, determination replacing her fear. She had to. No matter what obstacles lay ahead, she wouldn't let anything hold her back.

Arriving at the office, she hurried to the elevator, her heart sinking when she realized she was five minutes late. As she approached the lift, the doors began to close. In a split second, she raised her hand to stop them.

"Wait!" she called out, and to her surprise, the lift came to a halt. Vardaan was inside with Raj, holding the door open for her.

She stepped in, their eyes briefly meeting. Bhumija felt a flutter she couldn't explain. She managed a quick "Thank you," but he didn't say a word, just nodded slightly, returning his gaze to the panel, his focus unwavering.

As the doors slid shut, Bhumija's heart raced—not just from the unexpected encounter. She caught a whiff of his cologne, a scent that lingered in the small space, adding to the moment's weight.

When the lift reached her floor, the doors opened, and she stepped out, glancing back only to find him still with Raj, his expression unreadable. She hurried to her desk, trying to shake off the nervous energy.

Moments later, her manager caught her eye. "Bhumija, you're late again! This is becoming a habit. You need to take your job more seriously," he reprimanded, his voice sharp. Her cheeks flushed as she nodded, feeling the weight of disappointment settle in her stomach. Today was supposed to be her day to shine, but it was starting off wrong.
