Tara sat at her desk in the office, a stack of files spread out before her, the familiar hum of activity surrounding her. The sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the organized chaos of her workspace. She took a sip of her apple-flavored ORS, the tangy sweetness providing a brief respite from the relentless pace of her day. Despite having just recovered from a fever, she felt determined to catch up on the work she had missed.
As she flipped through the documents, her mind raced with strategies and deadlines, the thrill of the work almost overshadowing the remnants of her fatigue. Just then, the door swung open, and Nisha strolled in, her usual exuberance lighting up the room.
"Well, well, well! Look who's back!" Nisha exclaimed playfully, her hands on her hips. "The ever-present Tara was absent for a whole day. I thought we lost you!"
Tara chuckled, her heart warming at Nisha's playful banter. "I'm not that easy to lose, you know," she replied, a lightness in her tone, though fatigue lingered.
Nisha crossed the room and raised an eyebrow, her concern surfacing as she reached out to place the back of her hand against Tara's forehead. "You're not burning up anymore. Just checking," she said, nodding, her lips curling into a satisfied grin. "Looks like you survived the ordeal."
"Yep! I'm alive and kicking," Tara replied, her tone light as she returned to sorting through the files.
Nisha leaned against the desk, glancing curiously at the mini-fridge tucked in the corner of Tara's cabin. "Speaking of mighty, what's with all the ORS bottles?" she asked, opening the fridge and peering inside.
Tara's heart raced at the sight of the ORS, knowing they were a reminder of Veer's concern. "To stay hydrated, obviously," she deadpanned, trying to sound nonchalant, but her cheeks flushed slightly.
Nisha raised an eyebrow, a smirk forming on her lips as she picked up an ORS packet. "Oh really? What are you, some kind of hydration connoisseur? You've got more flavors here than a candy shop!" She held the packet up, her eyes dancing with mischief. "What's next? A tasting session?"
Tara tried to keep a straight face, crossing her arms as she leaned back in her chair. "They're just... good for you," she replied, her voice tinged with a hint of defensiveness. She could feel the warmth creeping into her cheeks, a mixture of embarrassment and a secret fondness for the packets.
"Yeah, right! I should stay hydrated too!" Nisha laughed, tearing open the ORS sachet. As she was about to drink, Tara shot up from her seat, a sudden urgency in her movements.
"Wait! No!" Tara exclaimed, reaching out and gently pulling the ORS away from Nisha's hands, her expression overly flustered.
Nisha blinked, taken aback. "What? I can't drink from your stash?" she teased, raising an eyebrow. "Is it that special?"
"Uh, no," Tara stammered, trying to recover. "I just... prefer it to be... reserved for certain occasions." Her attempt at sounding casual fell flat, and she knew it.
